Tulane isn’t Tulane anymore. Best case is we split with them. I think we may win 4 games out of the next 10.
I think you mean Memphis isn't Memphis anymore
Well that’s true but actually Memphis hasn’t been Memphis for some time now. But my point is Tulane isn’t crap anymore where we can chalk up two wins.
Pump the brakes on the Tulane stuff. Their best win, outside of Temple, is over a CSU team who is 194 in KenPom. Every other game they have won has been over teams ranked 213 or worse.
They lost to Georgia State by 11 and were blown out by FSU and UNC.
Besides having better objective ratings by a considerable amount (eg, KP and RPI), Tulane looks better than us based on my subjective eye test. I doubt we will be favored to beat them.

Yeah, just speaking about the home game. Memphis will likely be a 1.5 pt favorite. Unless one of the games before Tulane goes way south.
then we get Wichita State at the Forum, most likely record for that game
is
11-12. If we're lucky, 13-10 that means we beat UCONN and Tulane here and beat USF and ECU on the road. I am extremely upset about my school allowing this to happen and continue to happen. They better come up with something by this summer.

I don't see a win on that schedule.
If you don't see a win on that schedule, you must not watch any college basketball.
USF and ECU are both putrid and have less talent than Memphis. UConn is a mess (again) and lost one of their better players for the season. Memphis at home will be favored to beat Tulane and Frank Haith coaches Tulsa, so that game is always in play.

I would argue that Uconn has fallen even farther than we have.

Yep. Weird thing with them is they keep getting the talent, but the guys don't gel and then leave.

I’m simply saying we aren’t going to beat them twice. No need for the “pump the brakes on Tulane” BS. I don’t think Tulane is some juggernaut. But I can’t easily pencil in two victories over Tulane. They have improved and we are what we are.

Nope, never watched a college basketball game in my life. So my comment stands, I don't see one win on that schedule, although I obviously would love to be wrong.
Of course, since I don't follow college basketball I'll never know either way.

That's fair.
I've always said that Memphis will go 5-1 vs. the combo of USF/ECU/Tulane. I still think that is the case.
In any event, that is a quick way to get five quick conference wins without really being good or lucky.
With 12 other games (six at home) it's not inconceivable to go 3-9 and finish 8-10 in the conference and have people call it progress.

I guess it’s possible to lose two of those six games against ECU/Tulane/South Florida but I wouldn’t bet on it. If our win total is 17 or less I think he’s gone, or damn well needs to be. That record will result in a fourth straight year of no post season tournament, mostly no NCAA tournament. And nine straight years of no Sweet 16.

Next 10 games (just don't want anyone, anywhere to forget what this maroon has done to our Tigers)
After losing 82-48 to #8 Cincinnati
Memphis (9-5) now ranked #184, behind Canisius @180, Liberty @163, Rider @144
Georgia Tech (6-7) now #137 with losses including Grambling@327, Wofford@175 & Wright State@179
We are supposed to win 2 of the next 10, which would put us at 11-13, we need to win 2 we're supposed to lose to remain above .500. More likely we'll be 10-14. Thanks Tubby!
Sagarin has us 3-7 over the next 10, and 5-12 the rest of the season to finish 14-17. yikes
