With the Tub, basically Rudd liked him, some of the boosters liked him, so they gave him a call. Once they were decided on him, TT started a bidding war, they could not back down. They also wanted to save face because they thought we would be joining the Big12 and hiring the Tub would show they could compete with the Big 12.

But like I said that is rumors.

That is not even close

So, tell us what happened ...we are all ears

Don't be sarcastic, this guy has Rudd's ear. We all know it. But like you I want to hear the true story, so I eagerly await his response.

Well I didn't mean that this thread violated anything that should close it.

Just that the answer to the thread's question is a flat no, period.

Wasn't CTG the guy who was posting on every board possible 8? or so years ago pretending to know everything about everything and knew everyone from God all the way down to the devil until someone checked up on him and found out he knew absolutely nothing about anything and was just speculating and guessing and pretending to know things?

This city supports winners. Plenty of people would support all 3 if they are good enough

They have nothing to do with each other. There are FB boosters and BB boosters. The FB boosters decided they finally wanted to put forth the effort to make the football program relevant again. The BB boosters thought Tubby was a good catch.

If conference realignment ever happens again, it will be football that is the deciding factor not basketball. It would be great to be awesome at both, but if we can only be good at one, it's better to be good at football. Most schools are only good at one or the other.
