RE: How Disney/Fox deal could affect AAC/Big 12
Funny article forgets the problem. Number 1 UT doesn't want to expand and last time I checked they have the block vote. They can and will bolt because they can. ACC takes them in a heartbeat. Number 2 OU's board of regents don't want to expand and Boren completely shut down expansion talk after regents shut him down. They go to the SEC if they say the word. The whole expansion fiasco was a complete embarrassment for the B12. I guess writers need to write to fill the space.

Just a fan boy fantasy. Not happening any time soon. Best we can hope for short term is a much better AAC deal.

Naah. Just Wichita. Big 12 needs 20 conference games.

I didn't even click the link. Espn just paid $10 million not to expand. There is no expansion in the next 8 years.

RE: How Disney/Fox deal could affect AAC/Big 12
The article’s writer expresses a fundemental lack of understanding about these RSN’s and college networks.

1). ESPN doesn’t really want to start a conference Network. They get pushed into it occasionally (thats why the ACC Netowrk is on the way)—but they have no burning desire to start a new one. They have plenty to do just to launch the ACC Network.

2). The value in the Fox Regionals is driven almost exclusively by professional sports rights,
. College sports programming is largely just filler for these regionals. There simply isn’t enough money earmarked for college rights at these regionals networks to drive P5 realignment.

Actually the ACC Network has started...it just hasn't launched their channel 24/7 yet. It will happen and be a success.

I could envision ESPN putting many 2nd tier AAC games on the RSNs. I see ESPN actually paying more to the AAC for their games. You guys have earned it and should be able to get a nice bump as ESPN will need inventory.
