I can't tell if that's sarcasm or not. Every time the TV announcers mentioned him as MAC FOY and said he was a good QB I knew they didn't watch us this season or his last two regular season games.

Noticed Hawn and Roberts did not play at RT tackle. today and Olson got the start at LG. Thought Olson did okay.

Need to get better at all 22. Duke stopped Sutton. Really like the way Johnson plays D. He attacks the ball.

Saw this tweeted. Interesting stat:#NIU has now lost five consecutive bowl games by a combined score of 195-68: Florida State, Utah State, Marshall, Boise State and Duke.

Last bowl win remains Jan. 8, 2012 against Arkansas State, 38-20, in the GoDaddy.com Bowl.

All vs teams at or above .500 under Carey's watch.

Mods, go ahead and reprimand me because Rabid Squirrel is a rabid idiot.
Even though I preferred Santa, it's insane that you believe a 20-year-old young man practices, lifts weights, studies film, goes to classes, get his body hammered, etc., just because he wants to lose.

its a proven fact that Childers lifts harder than other qbs. He studies twice the film. Hes the only QB who attends classes...and as proven by film study, the only QB who has taken a hit to the body. He's quite amazing in all those facets. But yet he isn't any good at playing the most important position in all of sports. It's not his fault he is not good. It's not my fault I can identify that. Mods let's uniu57 have his say. he is a just and noble defender of the student athlete.

RE: NIU Duke Official Bowl Game Thread
There were 3 long pass plays tonight. That is a positive. What is strange is one came on a badly underthrowm ball; another the defender fell, then missed the tackle. The 3rd no DB covered the receiver. Ironically, Childers best pass was the ball to Blake who dropped the ball. Childers gave us exactly what Carey wanted, a low risk QB who is a running threat. For the most part it worked well in our conference; which is a clear indication of how weak the MAC is. Another positive, we have a RS Soph QB next year starting the season with more game experience than perhaps any Soph QB in the program’s history. That has to be worth something.

Thanks again for the hospitality as I have enjoyed visiting your Dog Pound. I'll keep my comments short. Duke achieved balance on offense (252 passing yards/213 rushing yards) which was bad news for NIU. When Duke is balanced we have the ability to score a lot of points. Conversely, you guys were not able to establish the run and that hurt your ability to sustain drives and keep our offense off the field. I'm sure things would have been a lot tougher for our defense if Jordan Huff had been available.

Good luck next season!

We should be ranked around 100

No I was told that's good. Especially when we do it again next year. That's when we resign Carey apparently.

At least the brutal non-conference schedule and the losing season that might happen will make it easier to push Carey out the door.

But you’ll still have the people who will be like “At least NIU didn’t lose a bowl game this year!” after a 5 win season.

I doubt it, the tough OOC will be a reason to not "blame Carey" and he'll get a pass.

Congrats on the win! Was hoping we'd get at least a close game out of it but I guess not. We can't run the ball because everyone knows we can't pass effectively, so all you have to do is stop the run.

Good luck next year!

Bowl Ratings:

Quick Lane: NIU vs Duke 2.5 million
Dollar General: Toledo vs App State 1.8 million
Potato: CMU vs Wyoming 1.5 million
Boca Raton: Akron vs FAU 1.4 million
Bahamas: Ohio vs UAB 882 thousand

Quick Lane had better ratings than 15 bowls including three which matched up two P5 teams (Foster Farms, Heart of Dallas, and Holiday).

Great.

2.5 million still wondering why you would call a fake punt... On 4th and 18....Inside your own 20...In the first quarter.

NIU still has a brand name in the G5 world, though the respect factor is diminishing as of late with our performance.
