It doesn't. Not in three consecutive years.

It happened in 2 straight years. They didnt throw all those regular seaon games to rack up all the losses to earn the seeding and they also did poorly in the next round. Last year's MTSU team was legit though and undeserving of a 12.

Edit: I apologize for reacting before reading. Also, it doesn't matter, they were a 12 seed and beat a Big 10 team in the first round.

I'm counting UAB and the 1st MTSU team. I don't think last year's win was a fluke.

Definitely not a fluke. Historical 12-5 matchup where it was clear neither team deserved their seed given. Mt was at least deserving a single digit seed

You’re not in the minority. The top four in CUSA whip the top four in CAA any year - hands down. I’d bet my house on it. The NCAA learned their lesson about disrespecting the CUSA with a 15 seed in prior tourneys. I’m sure Mstate didn’t appreciate the seeding.

I have said from the beginning of the year...the CUSA regular season and tournament championship goes through MTSU.

MTSU’s King is the real deal. He can score from anywhere. But, I’m not scared.

UAB is good too. Beat Charlotte and the next homestand becomes very exciting.

Yes Middle Tennessee was the first 12 seed favored over a 5 in something like 18 years. Like the guys in this you tube said, Vegas gave the selection committee the middle finger

Agree with this too. It's hard for me to believe that any of the top 5 teams in CUSA wouldn't win the CAA straight up.

For sure. This would be a great year to have the top five schools play each other in a neutral-site round-robin at the end of the season instead of having a traditional conference tournament. Most of the tournament's crowds are going to come from those teams anyway, and it'd be a huge RPI boost for all involved, increasing the chances for an at-large NCAA bid and multiple teams in the NIT.

I don't think any school in CUSA would be interested in a series with the CAA. ODU can schedule all of those tune ups annually anyway.

I'd rather see the our Top 5 playing the A10 or MVC in a series. That's the kind of stuff our conference commissioner should be trying to set up.
