The next Six year I would love to see the following and move to 10 tie-ins:

Top Tier (Three Teams)
1. Champ - Orange Bowl (Six more year deal)

2. Orlando (NYD) if B10 in Orange (Six more years)
2A. Outback/Gator (B10/ACC) vs SEC

3. Orlando Midweek (ACC vs B10)

Mid Tier (Next Four)
Charlotte vs SEC
Pinstripe vs B10
Nashville vs SEC
Sun vs P12

Lower Tier (Last 3)
Indy vs SEC
Foster vs PAC 12 even years /HOD vs B12 odd years
Detroit (Hopefully moved to a new location) vs B10

It's imperative that we replace the Camping World as the top non-Big Six bowl with something on New year's Day and a better payout. The fact that we stand the chance of our #2 team playing in a pre NYD bowl with such a low payout is one of the biggest failures the conference had in bowl negotiations the last time around.

The problem is we have too many programs who simply do not travel enough to make them desirable to the people who run the higher bowls.

Improving the time slot and/or date of our number one game is imperative. I'd love to get the Outback as our number one game, or the Gator for its tradition, but with a much bigger payout than it currently provides, something that ESPN has the ability to do if it wnats. If we stay with the Camping World Bowl, we really need ESPN to get it into a prime time slot. Since they play the Citrus in the same stadium, the game obviously can't be move to 1/1, but 5 pm on 12/27 is ridiculous. I'd even consider it being move to a prime time slot after 1/1, like most of the BCS games used to be.

With the Orange Bowl get the payout for the ACC rep the same as the other NYD Contract Bowls as the Sugar Bowl And Rose Bowl for the SEC, B1G, Big XII & Pac 12...they are locked in at $40 Million...we are not...

I would like to see the ACC replace the B12 in the Sugar. The B12 can move to the OB & play another P5/ND team.

RE: In the next bowl talks, what would you like to see happen with ACC tie-ins?
The optics of the Orange Bowl deal are more important than the actual money. The money is only an extra $25M spread over 3 years, divided by 14 teams -- in other words, about $595,000 per team per year.

IMO, there are two problems more important than the money:
1) The Rose and Sugar Bowls are ALWAYS played on New Year's Day, the Orange rarely is.
2) As mentioned, the next ACC team after the Orange Bowl falls all the way to the Camping World Bowl, which is the 2nd best bowl in its STADIUM.

Ideally, the ACC fixes both of those problems AND gets the same money as the other four power conferences... but in order of priority, I'm not sure I'd put the money as the most important issue.

For the next Major Bowl contract, I would love to see the ACC in the Sugar. However, those agreements do not expire until 2026. It is the non CFP bowls that are going to get updated for 2020. Why I was hoping to get Outback/Gator situation for the Number 2 team splitting with B10 and move the 3rd team to Camping World. However, Gator would have to step up in payout.

RE: In the next bowl talks, what would you like to see happen with ACC tie-ins?
We will be negotiating from a position of strength when the next round of bowl contracts are let. I would look for the Sugar to approach the ACC about replacing a dying Big 12 in their bowl.

What would be best would be some kind of rotation between the Orange and Sugar for the 2nd and third place ACC teams with the champ will always qualifying for the CFP.

That means the Sugar and Orange would be guaranteed powerful teams from the SEC and ACC in their bowls each season. With the coming death of The Big 12, the Sugar could find itself in a bad spot. Frankly one could argue that unless OU or Texas wins the Big 12 now, and gets the Sugar Bowl spot as consulation for being left out of the CFP, the Sugar Bowl is already in a bad spot.

As sucky it is...a continued tie in with Bad Boy/Beef O'Brady WTH it is called this year bowl. If your team is 6-6 at least you wanna go somewhere warm for the holidays. An annual tie in with another P5 league or AAC would be best.

I'd rather go here than Detroit.

Get rid of the Sun Bowl. Literally every other bowl game against a P5 conference would be preferable to going to El Paso.

I don't disagree, but the Orange Bowl deal is contracted through 2025. I believe the lower tier bowls are all up for renegotiation after next year.

To your point, the Orange Bowl has actually had better rating than the Sugar in non semifinal years. There is no justification for the Sugar to get more money.

The good thing about the Sun Bowl is there is no pressure to buy a bunch of tickets. The community supports it. The weather can be hit or miss...but El Paso has some charms. Day Tripping to Mesilla. If you have more time a trip to Big Bend or Marfa.

It isn't a bad place for a 7 or 8 win team to head to.

Don't worry, there's a good chance Clemson NEVER plays in the Sun Bowl.
As it is, it's the ACC's only tie in with the Pac-12.

I disagree, I would rather go to El Paso than Detroit (Quick Lane) Or Pinestripe..

IN fact I would love to see the liberty, Hawaii, and Foster farms added and Quick Lane and Pinstripe dropped along with the Citrus added as our #2 behind OB... That would be great!!

Why would you drop the Pinstripe? Great payout and lots to do.

The Sun Bowl is worth keeping. Bowls in Shreveport and Detroit are not.
