Ellis, Will Hall, Mark Freeman, Bryant Vincent, etc. There are a lot of ways to upgrade, especially when we are able to hire a 10th coach in January.

I think he’s proven that he’s not good without Petrino calling the plays.

Illinois only averaged 15.6 PPG this year. That even makes Les' numbers look good!

I am still not sure if the problem is the OC or the availability of offensive weapons.

Well, he was out of work when he was hired, and no other schools seem to have him currently on their radar, so there is the tea leaf version.

I'd be good with Vincent or Ellis. I'm not demanding Koening's head, but the second half adjustments have been lacking. I'm not impressed. I liked our 2014 offense better.

Our 2014 offense had more talent at every position. Just saying.

Not of a fan of Norman Dale-ing it.
Dance with the girl that you brought.
Running the ball until they stopped it would have made me feel better.
Sure that would have been on the 4th play, but it doesn't look good to go pass happy when that is not what got us here.

I'm a big Bryan Ellis fan.One day, he'll be a very good OC and probably a very good head coach. He's not ready to be an OC, in my opinion. Would be a good position coach.
I would prefer giving Mark Freeman a shot at transitioning from outstanding HS head coach to college OC. He really has a great mind for offense.
I like Vincent as position coach also.
I will also support Koenning's stay at OC. Not sure there is any sign that Koenning won't be here.

Freeman would be an outstanding choice, and an obvious upgrade.

This.
The problem is lack of bullets for the gun. Let’s see what happens when we get sone speed at WR, Improve the TE position. Add a RB with some break away speed and add some real OTs. I think we will address many of our needs on both sides of the ball and let’s judge the OC with a loaded gun.
Guys we have been doing it with smoke and mirrors and won 8 games. We have had some high powered offenses not even sniff more than 4 wins.

Atalla I think youp’re sot on. I’d add to smoke and mirrors Bill Clark willing them to win. This season looks just like his first year at Prattville where he took a bunch of kids who never won anything and made a winner out of them. Re:Koening, if Clark trusts him with the offense that’s good enough for me. Yes folks I will go blindly where he leads, I’ve seen this show before and it turns out really good

RE: Bryan Ellis for OC
When Koenning came here, most speculated that he was here for a 1 year deal. I'm told that has sought out a couple of jobs while here. Who knows if he plans on staying or not? If there is a change, Mark Freeman would be #1 on my list. He mirrors Clark. He is a workaholic that has won numerous state titles. He is a Birmingham native, and knows the landscape. He has close recruiting connections to almost all of the state. He has a great offensive mind. Number 2 on my list would be Will Hall. He did a great job as HC at West Alabama, and has been successful at every stop. Like Clark, he is a coaches son, and has been around the game his whole life. I'm sure there are others, but those 2 would be steals.

No doubt Bill used the Prattville blue print. I remember the change in that team when he got there. I also think he put more into building our defense up before the return. There's still plenty of building left to be done.
PS. Prattville didn't win the state championship in year one.
