Ok, tickets secured, and the entire family is heading to TX.
That said, its the first time for my girls and they need new gear. Where is the best place to get it? JMU Bookstore site? Am i missing anyplace? Fanatics has a terrible selection.

Believe this site has stuff the bookstore doesn't have:
http://www.jmusportsshop.com/
and of course University Outpost:

I think I've seen this asked before but any idea where to get the Nike Hoodies that the coaches had for the Weber St. Game (Deep Heather) with new JMU logo and script of "Football" underneath.
I can't find anything exactly like this. Would love one though!

RE: Best place for gear?
I've always thought the Outpost sold better gear than the Bookstore.
It's still a little difficult to find gear with the new branding. I just can't get anything with the old logo anymore. They still sell a lot of stuff with the old branding. I wish JMU would do a little more to push the new brand and get rid of the old brand.

Why don't either sale any good stuff with football branding on it. It would be nice to have a sweatshirt and T-shirts with the a football helmet on it.

Fanatics has a pretty nice Nike hoodie I wanted to order, but they only have it in black and I would much prefer it in purple.

Last year, on a tip from someone here (sorry I don’t remember who) I ordered from jmusportsshop and arranged to pick it up at the warehouse near DFW airport. Saved some shipping fees and insured I got the merch in time for the game!

I did this, this year. We're you pretty satisfied on quality from that site? Any complaints?

RE: Best place for gear?
Random note about merchandise with the old logo. I asked an area company that sells licensed JMU stuff in Lynchburg about the new branding. They told me that they weren’t producing any new apparel until after Jan 31 when they will be forced to pull the old logo off the shelf. They said they will have to donate what doesn’t sell to people overseas. I assume that date was part of an agreement with JMU and hopefully that means the new logo will become more available in the next month or so.

We got a T-shirt and a couple of knit hats. The knit hats were of good quality. They’re purple, cuffed, with “JMU” on one side and the Duke Dog head on the other. Only minor complaint is that the gold color seemed a little too light (looks more like sand than gold color). But that’s really a nitpick. The T-shirt was purple, typical cotton tee, with the stacked Duke Dog over the old-style JMU letters. The graphic was screen printed and I was worried it would start to crack but it has held up for a year through many washes and still looks almost new.
So, I’m pleased with the products, and as olddawg mentioned (thanks again for the tip, olddawg!), the people were friendly when I called and when I visited to pick up the order.
Edit: I looked on the website and the items we got are no longer available. They have a ton of stuff with the new logo now so it may be time to update our gear.

Awesome...thanks for info. I ordered some sweatshirts with the new logo and football under it. I had them ship to the hotel bc our flight is getting into DFW after they close on Friday with no Sat morning p/u available. Is that area okay? I reserved the hotel late, just north in Lewisville...our flight back on Sunday is early and even 30 mins Sunday morning seemed worth it as long as Lewisville isn't sketch? It's the Hilton Garden Inn if anyone has feedback on that hotel/area?
Thanks! Wasn’t aware of the jmu sports shop site.

RE: Best place for gear?
Bump.
Fanatics has a 30% off deal going on for TMobile users, and they have a decent selection on JMU gear, but before I buy I want to be sure JMU is gonna get a good sized cut of the action for the price I'm paying. Does anyone know what the cut is, or who at the school I should ask to get that info?

Can't speak to Fanatics, but shout out to the Alumni Association who opened an online store this spring. Current offering of products goes to order on Friday (orders due 5/15 at midnight).

I would add that a percentage of the proceeds will go toward supporting Alumni programming, and if there is something you would want that isn't on there, reach out to the Alumni Relations office (alumni@jmu.edu) and let them know! This is a pilot of sorts and they'd love to get feedback and to add more stuff if it is wanted!
