Kudos to Coach Lester
Whatever criticism Lester has taken from me and others for the season, he certainly has done a tremendous job recruiting, and we all know how important recruiting is. I was concerned that the season would impact the class. Clearly it didn't. This is a good sign, and provides optimism. People sometimes suggest that the ratings of players is insignificant or overstated. I disagree. It matters a ton how good the players are who are coming into your program. And it is a battle to get them and keep them. We have talked for year how WMU has so much to offer, as does Kalamazoo. Great school, great academics, great campus, great town, great facilities. Lester is selling these things, and good for him for making the right points with these kids.
I still have my complaints about Lester and his staff, but this isn't one of them. He can build on this. Great job Coach!

Great job Coach Lester and Staff. I think the players did a good job too!
Not happy with last season, but certainly happy with today.

Yeah, in the presser Lester said the players were their best recruiters, very key it sounds like in getting Reed to sign. I'm glad that's stayed true from the Fleck years, and I'm glad (with a few quickly-dealt with exceptions) that WMU has always been a program you could feel good about being associated with.
Contrast that with Lane Kiffin and his ongoing douchebaggery...
