I’ll ask the Lopes to try extra hard and knock off the mighty 3-8 Longwood Lancers from the Big South tomorrow. Arizona State handled them rather easily earlier this week.
It’s doubtful that GCU can contribute to our conference win column against non-WAC opponents when they visit Louisville the following game. Sigh...
I'd ease up on the sarcasm when talking about Longwood. The hung with the #3 team in the country for 20 mins, and GCU doesn't have anywhere near the firepower it took to bury Longwood in that 2nd half.
Should GCU win? I cautiously say yes. Has this Lopes team shown enough consistency to make me breathe any easier when thinking about taking on Longwood? Absolutely not.

Would love to hear Claritys excuse for Bakersfield mediocre season. Rejoicing over every Bakersfield loss.

I could care less what Clarity thinks. Good riddance.

I understand your anger at Clarity. Its warranted.
However, rejoicing over a conference member's loss (and thus subsequent drop in conference RPI) is akin the old saying "cutting off your nose to spite your face."

Fair enough, fair enough. No point jinxing the guys before tonight’s contest. I just really hope they don’t look past the Lancers while gearing up for Louisville.
I’ve thought about going to see the Louisville game, as it’s only about 2.5 hours away from me. But I’d rather drive 5 hours and see them play a beatable Illini squad.

I am actually happy for you classy and respectful CSUB fans. You guys are great. But when you couple CSUB leaving with Clarity's venom, it's hard for me to cheer you guys on.
It's like fantasy football when a RB from your favorite team is playing against your FFB team. You want your NFL team to win, but don't want that RB to do well. Very mixed feelings.

Not when said conference member has their foot out the door and is leaving.

So...CSUB was/is the ONLY one that WOULD/did make a conference move? No other school here would do likewise? Or, are we just being villified because we were the first?
NMSU would not be congratulated (or at least understood by other members) if it found a FB conference and home for all sports like the Sun Belt or MWC? We would gripe about UMKC if the Summit or (MVC) came calling? Seattle if the WCC wanted to expand? Other examples exist as well with schools.

I am in agreement with RunnerBall here. As long as CSUB is in the WAC, I will be cheering for their success. Plus it seems like CSUB is a Jekyll and Hyde type of team. If the refs are letting them play then their defense can frustrate their opponent. If the refs are calling it tight (like in the Delaware game) then CSUB is in trouble. I hate tightly called games, but I'll be hoping for one when CSUB plays GCU.

Hey, Wofford just took down North Carolina last night. They were ranked #237 in KenPom before the big win and are still ranked below GCU. While unlikely, we can still hold onto a little bit of hope against Louisville.
I know, I know, I'm an optimist!!!

I’m all about some hope. They played Louisville close last year, so likely no element of surprise this year. Also, Louisville is in turmoil with the whole Pitino thing. If GCU plays at the level they did against Boise, they’ll have a respectable showing and should be in the ball game late into the second half. That’s the key... keep it within 8 points, so you’re only three possessions from tying.

GCU up 20-5 early. Lopes are getting offensive rebounds seemingly at will. Longwood is turning the ball over quite a bit, and they look really tired.

It’s now 37-7. I don’t know where the Longwood team that played hard against Arizona State is tonight. 7 minutes to go in the first half. This game is a massacre. Props to Canyon for coming out focused and not playing sloppy against a struggling opponent. Shots are falling, and the defense is feeding and driving the offense. It’s a clinic tonight!!!
I will say Longwood has interesting jerseys. I’ve never seen argyle shoulders before!

So Josh Braun sprained his ankle. And tonight the guys are flying to Louisville. So, the concern is now swelling due to the elevation / altitude on the four hour flight. Hoping he’ll be okay.
Meanwhile there’s a minute left. Canyon is up 84-53. Bench was cleared a while ago. Good game tonight for the PHX boys!!!

To be fair, coach shot you guys in the foot by putting a walk on in charge of the most important inbounds of the game.

NMSU down 4 with 3 minutes left in Hawaii going up against Davidson. They were up 12 at half, but they have yet to recover from a 20-2 run by Davidson.

NMSU found a way to come back late thanks to Keyon Jones and Zach Lofton. Beats Davidson 69-68 and will play the winner of Miami and Hawaii tomorrow.
