I've met more girls in gay bars than anywhere else in my life. I'm 32 and married now, so I haven't been to one in a long while, but in my early-mid 20's I got a lot of (women's) phone numbers at Club Bronz in Northside.

Hell, 24 years and 2 kids later I’m still married to the lady who was my bartender at a bar on Prospect Hill that wasn’t exactly a gay bar in the early 90s but the water was very brackish...about 50% gay, 40% hetero, and 10% any port in a storm at closing time.

That’s the one. Dear friend who passed away long ago was one of the three guys who opened it. Was a unique place that changed quite a bit when it switched hands.

I feel sorry for APB now. Not because they've been getting waxed this season, but because a thread with their name on it has taken this turn.

You guys are better men than I. Never frequented a gay bar (except on accident once) but many a bar did I frequent. My advice to the younger dudes, aside from Le Boy Toy Pub, get a puppy or cute dog and watch the "chick magnet" work its magic. We have a male Bichon (no froo froo hair cut) and I can't take him anywhere without a female commenting on how cute/adorable he is. He solicits conversation from the female persuasion on auto-pilot. If only I had done this about 25 years ago.

1) Determine their EEP (estimated earning potential)

2) Position yourself near the women's restroom. All the girls who had too much to drink eventually come that way.

or you could take your baby on a stroller ride thru spring grove cemetery and tell (don't wait to be asked) the nearest cutest female that you're going to see mommy. i think that's bad karma. if karma does exist. it probably does for things like that

ahh, gay bars. back on topic. anyone ever been to the dock? or the serpent? serpent's closed now most likely because it was a leather bar. i've heard some shocking stories. too bad a place like that has to shutter, even if i'd never visit. like drilling for oil in the arctic. i'd get eaten alive. bronze was always a party. oodles of uppers

and since i like to tell stories, the only time i've ever spent in the state of massachusetts was at a gay bar in springfield around lunch time. there were three of us
