JMU Gear
So apparently a bunch of NDSU t-shirts showed up at a local Target here in Richmond. I understand that it was a mistake (not ordered by the store and the box of t-shirts was marked with VCU - but quite a coincidence) but got me wondering why is it so hard to find JMU gear in the major retailers outside Harrisonburg? Seems like they'd sell well especially around Richmond.

Along those lines, I believe its been said NDSU “packs up the bookstore” and sells a lot of their gear at Frisco, maybe not inside the stadium, but at least nearby.

Sounds like something JMU could do and generate a little bit of extra revenue. I wouldn’t mind picking up a few more items, especially if they had a championship game tie-in.

Very frustrating to be up in NOVA and the only choice is Tech/UVA/Mason.

Imagine living overseas for significant portions of 5 of the last 6 years.

Appropriate for this thread....

I've never been able to find a decent JMU winter coat. I don't think the bookstore has ever sold them. I see people wearing some. Anyone have any ideas where to get one?

Been a complaint/issue for years.

Something with the licensing or who puts up the upfront cash to get it done or whatever.

Richmond area, NoVa/Fearfax, Arlington etc would all be either honey pots or gold mines for merchandising this stuff, boggles the mind.

My daughter came home with a hoodie that I’ve threatened to lose 100 pounds so I can steal it and fit into, not available anywhere around here, (Poormond).

Makes NO sense. Missing or passing on a huge profit opp.

They did do some of that in Chatty back when. Still have my now decade old t shirt.

Good thing, I’d left the little bag with all my purple and gold and gear somewhere at East Carolina...

Outpost had some freaking great jackets about 7-8 yrs ago. I bought and paid for one online to pick up next home game. Really nice, I think someone posted it here (or Zone).

It was Griz game, ‘08 actually.

Took what I/ we had, but couldn’t wait to pick this thing up.

Got there early in the day, no coat. They’d resold it somehow. Was supposed to be set aside for a week or two... buh bye. No jacket. No reorders, no ticky no laundry.

Still pissed at them...

RE: JMU Gear
Roanoke doesnt have any JMU apparel. I have to order everything online.

VT is the closest school and the bigger school, so I get that the majority of the merch will be theirs. But I dont understand how JMU cant at least get a Tshirt or a sweatshirt to Roanoke.

RE: JMU Gear
The Dick's at Stony Point mall has some decent 1/4-zip and dry-fit type JMU gear. It's on the second level but definitely off-brand (not Nike, UA, etc.).

RE: JMU Gear
Also, anyone know if outpost will be making a national championship shirt? The main bookstore has one on their website but the biggest thing on the shirt is the state of Texas. Not a fan.

Last year they had one with the team helmets on it, and made one like it for the SDSU game (which seemed weird to make a semi-final shirt). I was hoping for a similar helmet shirt with NDSU.

RE: JMU Gear
Disco Sports in the West End of Richmond apparently has some good JMU gear (owners may be alumni?) but I have not been able to check it out.
