After reading all the trash that began blowing around the last couple of days on this forum, I figured WSU would be 20th and Cincinnati 11th.

hate/jealousy????? when houston was top 10 in football the entire league cheered...when uconn won its title we all cheered...

our league is 2 years away from a tv/bowl/ncaa distribution deal that will likely define us...we cheer for anything good

we dont cheer for wsu not becuase we are jealous...but because you guys are WAY TOO COCKY ... thats THE ONLY reason for the wsu negativity on this forum..when you first joined everyone was cheering ya'll on

Good point!

Basketball fans across the country are still busy wiping the poo off their television screens after Saturday's fiasco but the darn media just won't let us slide. I was certain we'd hit 15 or lower after we were blown out of our own downtown civic center. I guess the experts know something the rest of the AAC doesn't.

Houston fans have an inflated opinion of our school and teams and some of our fans come off as obnoxious. Because of this we get our share of hate when we fall (calls of coogin' it, cougar high, etc.) We don't go whining about it. We take it because we understand when you talk a big game about how great you are, people or going to take shots sometimes. WSU is used to being the big fish in a little pond I guess so your skin is a little thin now. I'm just saying thicken up a little bit.

It could also have something to do with people constantly throwing out jabs like the bolded statement while ignoring the fact that WSU has 10 wins in the NCAA tourney over the last 5 years .. More than the vast majority of schools including power schools all while being the lower seed in all but 1-2 of those games. It's not a big fish in a small pond thing.

Our results will speak for themselves in conference play. I am fine taking a few attempted nut taps from the peanut gallery as we pick ourselves up off the mat following Saturday's debacle. We failed to perform, plain and simple.

I would also encourage the ankle biters in the crowd to get their shots in now, while they can, because opportunities going forward this season will be few.
