The G4 should create a playoff with 8 spots.

Four spots for the G4 Conference winners (Sun Belt, CUSA, MAC, and MWC) and 4 at large bids.


The 4 at large would go to the top two G4 non-conference winners and then two spots for the top two ranked FCS teams.

They could play this playoff over a three week period right after the last conference CCG is played.

Might be able to get CBSSN or ESPNU to carry the semi finals and maybe ESPN2 carries the CCG.

CCG could be in Springfield, MO held at MSU's Stadium, Plaster Field. Nice venue, seats around 17K and is just up the road from Branson, MO which gives the fans a destination.

So the AAC will be the only Division I conference excluded from any playoff opportunities? Sounds like a great idea! We should pitch it to Aresco.

Seriously, how many of the G4 Conference Chairs have proposed such a set up (maybe a bit better venue). Let'em travel down this path and see where it leads them....

Good point. That's basically what a G4 playoff would amount to.

I would argue that the AAC could then make a legit claim to own the "G" Access Bowl spot for their Champ.

Over time we'd have as much access to the playoffs as the Big East did for their Champ in the 1 v 2 game in the old BCS model if our Champ kept winning that game.

Shouldn't UCF fans be nicer? This wasn't that long ago. Normally, people are more sympathetic after experiencing tough times.


Also, what is the deal with the "directional school" jab? I don't understand the dig at our university. THE Georgia State University is similar to a lot of AAC schools. We are a large urban research university located in the major metropolitan city of Atlanta. It is a well-regarded academic institution. Our sports programs are in good shape overall; the football program will be respectable in 5-10 years no doubt. We have 50,000 students and 100,000 alumni in the ATL area alone. When we build a winning football program, students and alumni will come. Period. I think GSU's endowment fund is bigger than UCF. Really...enlighten me about this "Georgia Northern State" nonsense to label us as some small regional college. What is the problem?

Amazing that even during the Memphis down years, attendance was about 4X what GA St has experienced in their "best" years (I use best advisedly).
