Quote:President Trump is often fighting with the old-guard of the FBI. The president fired FBI director James Comey and has been deeply critical of Robert Mueller’s special investigation into campaign collusion with Russia. Recently, texts were released from former Muller investigator Peter Strzok indicating a deep criticism of Trump during the campaign.

The war between Trump and the FBI seems to only be heightened by the day.

The current atmosphere made Trump’s visit to FBI National Academy all the more interesting Friday morning. The FBI National Academy is located in Quantico Virginia. The academy is run by the FBI and exists to train law enforcement around the country.

Trump traveled to the base order to speak to the officers at their graduation ceremony, along with Attorney General Jeff sessions and FBI director Christopher Wray. In his opening remarks, the director of the FBI academy said to Trump, “Your presence here demonstrates your strong commitment to law enforcement and your strong commitment to the citizens and the communities we serve.”

He went on to describe how excited the law enforcement officers were when they heard that Trump would be addressing them:

“A few days ago, we were assembled in this auditorium and the announcement was made you would be attending and this room erupted with energy.”

At that line, the cadets erupted into a long standing ovation.

Trump joined them onstage, pointing and clapping.
