Bears-Lions Ford Field Saturday
Just wondering if the rare Saturday NFL Bears Lions game opposite so many bowl games was necessitated by preparations required for Quick Lane bowl plus the lost Xmas holiday weekend to boot?

None of the above. It's the NFL getting into every time slot imaginable for TV purposes. They were probably hoping at least the Lions were in the race and that they would capture the Chicago market.

And I don't think opposite Marshall and CSU is a concern of the NFL at all.

Next they'll want the 6 pm central time weekday time slots to compete with the MAC.

NFL has usually had some late-season (after CFB regular season) Saturday games, then Saturday playoff games.

Are the Lions wearing EMU tribute uniforms?

NFL always has late season Saturday games. They don't need 10 days to prepare for the Quick Lane Bowl.
