Last year a WCC team nearly won the tournament and no one would've considered it a big upset because Gonzaga is a high major program. Wichita is a high major program regardless of what conference they play in.

I'm still convinced Gonzaga was the best team last year. Collins foul trouble was the difference in that game.

01/11/18 Update

UC a 4 seed (vs. William & Mary /Tennessee) in Boise
AAC 3 teams in (Houston in play in game , SMU first 4 out)

Jesus Christ. If we can't send UC to their home-away-from-home in Spokane, give 'em Boise!

Lol. No kidding.

I don’t care if we get a 4 or a 5 (gotta play a 4 or 5 in round 2 anyways). Just put us in the eastern time zone.

I'd rather be a 3 or a 6 if we are going to be in the east. I want no part of Villanova in the Sweet 16. I have a feeling we'll end up out west like always though, especially considering how weak the Pac 12 is this year. I think a lot of EST/CST teams are going to get stuck playing out west.

It goes without saying but UC has got to win some games in the tournament this year. And regardless of the seeding, regardless of the location, they have to get in a make it to the second weekend minimum. No no more talks of conspiracies, being undervalued, being disrespected, giving us a bad matchup, a bad region, etc. -it doesn’t matter. The Cats have to find a way to win some games. Xavier does it, in recent times Butler, Wichita State and other teams have done this from less than power conferences.

Just have to find a way.

lol
The sentiment though, is on the mark. It's never easy.
The 2011-2012 team had to beat the ACC champion to get to the Sweet Sixteen. A team with a better seed. That's something the Huggins era teams never had to do. The year before that, we met Kemba Walker and UConn who were the eventual national champions. A team who incidentally, we had played two or three times that season(due to us being in the same conference). We had an absolutely loaded UCLA team last year with several draft picks, we had a Kentucky team a season or two before that, which was very much the same.

It's not supposed to be easy. If it were, we wouldn't care about it.

Or else they’ll put us on notice of their feelings!

I love put up or shut up.

Especially when it’s fans whose mood swings 180 degrees as soon as the next L not doing the putting up and then not shutting up.

I certainly agree with you. I love the one game and out, format. It cost Gonzaga when Collins got a couple cheap foul calls and had to sit far too long, but the excitement is great and at least they are deciding it on the court.

I pretty much agree. UC caught an underperforming UCLA in Pauley and won decisively; caught an underperforming Florida and lost a close one--one they'd certainly like to get back I'm sure. This UC team can play with the blue bloods.

I really don't want to hear the litany of complaints on Selection Sunday about seeding and region (and how X advanced because they got such a great draw again). Just go win two games, compete in the Sweet Sixteen and see if the 'Cats can make some magic of their own.

I'm inclined to agree with Coach Cronin's comments this week: we have yet to see Evans' full potential and what we're seeing right now is pretty special. UC isn't a one trick pony--this group has experience, multiple scoring options and elite defense. That could and should add up to advancing in March.

We'd obviously like to go to the Final 4 any year but I've got to admit I may want it a little extra this year since it would mean it was done by a really special person in Gary Clark and really good kids around him that I'd love to see coming back for Final 4 reunions.

Prediction Machine gives UC a 17% chance to make the Final 4, which looks to be the 7th highest.
