Asbjorn Midtgaard 7'0"
Jaime Echenique 6'10"
Isaiah Poor Boy Chandler 6'9"
Chance Moore 6'9"
McDuffie 6'8"
Morris Udeze 6'8"

Landry Shamet 6'4"
Erik Stevenson 6'4"
C J Keyser 6'3"
Samajae Haynes-Jones 6'
Alex Lomax 5'11"
Just a shade under 6'6" on average. Heights were taken from Verbal Commits.
Do y’all think McDuffie will be back? Would be shocked if Shamet is. If he keeps playing how he is now Shamet will be a mid-late 1st round guy.

McDuffie is likely to be back.
I would be very happy to see Shamet come back but there's a good chance he goes pro. Current Draft projections that i've seen have him in the second round for now which makes him coming back more likely. I personally think he's a 1st round talent but i'm not exactly an NBA scout and who knows, maybe his injury history scares some teams.

As SMU saw with Semi last year, lots of the time guys fly under the mock draft radar for a portion of the season until the end of the season the shoot up the board. I’ve seen him in the low 20s high 30s on a few already. I’m sure he will test the waters. Will probably get a 20-40 range projection like Shake Milton. I’d be surprised to see Shake or Shamet back.
Good news about McDuffie though.

I saw half of that Memphis East team play last night and WOW they are stacked. Wiseman is 100% a UK or Duke kid and future top 5 draft pick. Dandridge looked good too. Wasn't as impressed with Chandler Lawson with everything i've heard about him, he is good, but didn't stand out. Lomax is a real athletic PG and seems to be a good distributor/energy guy. Didn't see him shoot much. Also, thought Boyce was solid. Shocked UAB landed him.
None of those kids are going to Memphis....even with Penny coaching the team. That's how bad Tubby is at recruiting.
Tubby couldn’t tell you where East High is located.
East is the best college team in the city and has the best coach

William Douglas will probably not get to show it this season but he is one of the smarter freshman players I can remember. He does all the small things really well, and he has an NBA 2-guard body. I can’t believe Memphis let us get him from their backyard, but I’m glad they did.

Unfortunately, many of the players we normally get to keep for four years will be at a risk for early departure in this league. While there may not be a big difference between the MVC and the AAC with regards to scoreboard at the end of the game, there is a difference in quality of athletes with NBA potential.
Wichita State's underrecruited players will have a much better opportunity to get noticed in this league which means the probability that a 'Duff or ShamWoW leaving early has just increased. Right now Landry has the edge with regards to the NBA but McDuffie hasn't been playing. A year ago it was McDuffie everybody was talking about. Shamet blew up nationally after the UK game.
This is good news for our ability to recruit impressive athletes but perhaps bad news for our gaudy win totals continuing every year. Part of the magic of Wichita State is the high maturity of our players. We didn't smash the K|Ucks because we were more talented; we smashed them because we were smarter, more mature, and had more character.
Imagine if today's NBA players stayed in college for 4 years...

Kentucky would be the UCONN WBB of MBB.
They would actually get less of the talent than they do now. They wouldn't have room for five Burger Boys in every class. They'd still be damn good, but some of that talent gets spread around.

True. I guess Kentucky/Kansas/Duke/UNC/Michigan State MBB becomes UCONN/Notre Dame/Baylor/South Carolina/Stanford WBB.
College basketball would increase in popularity enormously, the talent would be spread around, players would choose schools much more carefully (probably closer to home) knowing they'd be there for nearly half a decade instead of just a one year dog-and-pony draft show, crime and thuggery would drop precipitously, African Americans in the NBA who came from poverty would build more wealth and contribute more to their communities instead of squandering it in the "NBA life". There literally is no downside.
Every other high-paying job in the world requires a college degree, why shouldn't playing in the NBA? Of course it should, and so should football, baseball, and hockey.
CB will allow 2 years of military service to replace 4 years of college.
Follow my prescription and you will have distinguished role models for our youth again instead of heroes to malcontents.

Lomax, a four-star point guard from Memphis and the prized final piece of Gregg Marshall’s finest recruiting class, is used to winning. He’s won everywhere he’s been and none more than at Memphis East, where Lomax is the floor general for the No. 1 high school team in the country.
So as Lomax headed into WSU’s locker room following defeat, he was curious what he would see and hear. He came away impressed from the experience.
The future is very bright for Wichita. So goes your PG, so goes your team. We had 4 years of a nationally ranked PG in VanVleet, then came nationally ranked Shamet, and now Lomax.
P.S. Lomax never comes to Wichita if he wasn't assured Marshall's feet were in concrete. The AAC is assured of at least a few more years of pain.

You act like we want Marshall gone. We brought you guys here to be relevant for more than one season. I hope next years rebuild/reload is a good squad too (if you lose Shamet w/ the seniors). Y’all lose a lot of experienced talent. We don’t need more “we used to be really good” in the conference.
I like Lomax. Needs work on his jumper though.

Many on this board want Marshall gone. I would go as far as to say the majority of non-WSU fans.

Really? I don’t see why. As an SMU fan I love that WSU is good. Another chance for a quality win. Didn’t love last years situation, even though we won the conference. We want to be in a 4 bid minimum type league every year. Marshall leaving doesn’t help that cause. WSU is stacked this year, but clearly not unbeatable and we aren’t shaking in our boots to play you guys this year or going forward. Playing legit teams makes the season all the more fun and is better for us and this conference.

Shamet has been good, but has been inconsistent so far and with how our offense doesn't emphasis one player, I don't think you will see him shoot up the leaderboards. I'm hopeful for 1 more year of him and McDuffie to go along with our incoming class. It will be a step back just because the frontcourt will be entirely new, but having a solid backcourt will help.
It will be so nice when we have a coach who locks the city of Memphis down again. No more locals going to places like SMU & Wichita unless its kids we don't really want. Ready to see another Final 4 where when they announce the Tigers starting lineup its.....
"starting at ______, from Memphis, Tennessee........"
for all 5 starters.
