Well. hope they have a buyer for Snoozyies and Fat Sams those are the two Staples in UAB Athletics, otherwise, it lookes like good parking, Hope the purple onion and Manions in Homewood is still their. Places like that are irreplaceable. Yea Yea I know Sam is in Heaven. now none the less, I hope they can duplicate it know.

Even though I never had a large problem at Snoozy's, most of the time they did not have what was on the website in stock. I once ordered a t-shirt for my 13 year old son that had the dragon head with UAB across the top. Only after ordering I got an email about it being out-of-stock and would be on back order.
Months went by, perhaps six, and I actually forgot about the shirt. During the spring, well after football season, I get a package in the mail with the shirt. My son had went through the teen growing spell and the shirt was too small. I end up driving to the store and only finding that the next size was out-of-stock. Never got over that experience.
I've had no problem ordering from the bookstore.

It may be in this thread somewhere, but are they giving discounts when you check out online? I don’t see any clearance prices listed on the site (but I’ll order anyway)

Saw's Soul Kitchen is going to use the former Fat Sam's to support their food truck(s).

For those ordering from Snoozy's online:

The website won't show the 40 percent discount when you checkout. However, my order already arrived (which amazed me!), and the enclosed invoice had the 40 percent discount applied. They also included a bunch of stuff I didn't order: Blazer pens, koozies and a bumper sticker.

I'm going to miss that place.

To me Snoozy's going out of business would be like J&M's going out of business, sure, theirs going to be someone come in with a buyer or a new name. Part of the College Tradition is a private college book store. Theirs normally one private book store which brings it. So know what.

I'm really glad I took the opportunity to go to Snoozy's and buy a few things this past September when I was back in Birmingham fleeing the Georgia coast during Hurricane Irma.

Granted the last version of Snoozy's was much different (even different location) than when I attended school there, but it was definitely my 'go to' place for supplies at that time. (I didn't have enough money back then buy shirts or hats, but I really wanted to.)

This much I can say, it surely won't be the same whenever I go back to B'ham without Snoozy's there.

Thanks very much for supporting our school the way many of us wanted to, but couldn't afford to do it!

Bakken said UAB's Barnes & Noble is acquiring Snoozy's remaining inventory and will sell that inventory at the Snoozy's location in January and February.

Al.com had a story today that UAB bought Snoozy's for 4.2 million. We'll miss Snoozy's (a lot), but they're going to make out ok.

Was Snoozy's always at that location or were they previously located somewhere else?

Seems like they made a killing just based off of location alone.

They used to be across from the Glen Iris Epic School, near the Business School.

Did Snoozy's close their other locations as well? They had a store on Valleydale at one point to serve the Jeff State campus.

Yeah that one was Snoozys Kids. I believe that one is just closing.

Snoozy's also had a store on Carson Road near the main Jeff St. campus back in the day.

I miss them already. Glad I got in there and picked up some stuff before they were gone.

Yeah that one was Snoozys Kids. I believe that one is just closing.

I spoke to Snoozy when I visited during the closeout.

He said his son George was running it and it's staying open. Btw George was manager when Snoozy's was at the previous location across from the BEC. Some of you older folks (like me) may remember him.
