I am very interested to see how much it changes the recruiting process. I think it could be very beneficial to SBC teams but at a minimum it should not have a negative impact.

"Hey kid, did that school who 'offered' you send the papers for you to sign today? No? Huh, they must not want you that bad. Here are some papers you can sign RIGHT NOW and have a scholarship the next 4-5 years."

I'm sure most P5 schools are doing the "We want you to come visit us and make sure you feel comfortable with us before you sign, can you visit right after the early signing period is finished?"
I know they will try but it will be easy to convince parents that they are being strung along. with only one date it is a lot easier to deceive them.

By the 20th all High School football is done nothing more to see. Some folks are dumb but not that dumb you would hope.

Hope I’m wrong but based on immediate playing time I could see you guys having the upper hand. He was committed to UCA previously so maybe Campbell and staff can win out.

I think he will be a good one.

Former ULM player who was his ap or coach pushed for him to ULM out of high school. We rolled with Evans.
Ellington is a good player.

Interesting. I thought the opposite. Thought the relationship with Campbell might be enough to swing him to USA. I see your point though. He could start next year for us if he beats our freshman QB Jack Walker in Spring. USA has 5 QBs including Davis and Garvin. Ellington would have to beat out your previous starters.

Watching Ellington's hudl video, I actually thought of Evans lol I guess ULM was pursing 2 QBs with similar skillsets. Like Evans, Ellington can throw some pretty deep balls but he can scramble with 4.5 speed. When the pocket collapses, Ellington wouldn't helplessly go down like Manning.

Not in Texas. We still have playoffs going on. Championships will be next week. 21st thru 23rd.

Semi finals are this week and finals next week in Texas. All of HS football is not done. Don’t know where you get your info.

With QB Dan Ellington as the newest addition, GSU is up to 18 commits (8 are 3-star recruits). Ranked 2nd in SBC recruiting for now. We expect to sign a full class of 25 commits. We also have 2 silent commits (if my hunch is right, one of them is the 3 star playmaker we wanted)

RE: 2018 FB Recruiting Thread
App lost two recruits last week to ACC schools, but just picked up two more commits this weekend to bring the total back to 24.
-HENRY PEARSON, a rare recruit from NJ, 3* ATH that played TE and ILB in high school. Beat out Rutgers
-ANDERSON HARDY, OT out of Raleigh NC. He's unranked as of right now but has offers from Coastal, EZU, UConn, and some smaller schools.

Hopefully this early signing period will keep our top guys from being poached by the P5 late in the recruiting year. If so, probably top 2 class in Belt.

3* RB COURTNEY MCKINNEY who had been committed to us for almost a year flipped to Wake Forest two weekends ago.

I understand wanting to play in the ACC vs Sunbelt, It's a no brainer. But I feel we should compete with recruits over Wake with overall program success and facilities.

ULM picks up huge TE 3 star recruit out of Frisco, TX. Flipped him from Ok St. Has offers from LSU, Ms. St, Miami (Fl.), Colorado, Baylor, Auburn, TCU, Colorado St., Houston, Tulsa, and Iowa St. amongst others. Number 22 TE in the country. Big time pickup. V is a heck of a recruiter.

Not only that, I believe he took a gray shirt offer at Wake.

ULM just picked a good TE with multiple P5 offers. Guess he waited too long. Think he has some friends on the team.
