Bryant should start if we want to get out and run (play uptempo for some).

Had a party to go to, just finished the game, just now reading the thread...reminded how much more I enjoy being a Blazer fan when not keeping up with game threads (that definitely wasn’t the case in the past)

RE: Auburn thread
Credit the team for battling back in the 2nd half. Just tough to win when you spot your opponent an 18-4 start. Not sure what we have to do to get going from the tip. William Lee continues to be the most frustrating player in my memory as a UAB fan. He has the talent to be the best player on the court if he would just play with max effort and be aggressive. He single-handily gifted them 4 points by his lack of box out on missed free throws. Just imagine if Lee played with the same tenacity as Cokely...Bryant played ok, but was forcing too many of his drives and missed a couple layups he usually makes.

3 point defense continues to be a major issue. Granted some of them were deep or with a hand in their face, but plenty were wide open. Also, no excuse to get out rebounded by Auburn when we have such a size advantage.

On the plus side, we fought back well in the 2nd half and Cokely is an absolute animal. He's on a mission this year . Jalen Perry gave us good minutes off the bench and Darling played well driving to the goal. Our free throw shooting kept us in the game. Scoring 80 on the road against an SEC team isn't bad, but the defense has got to get better.

All in all, another frustrating loss to Auburn when they were short handed no less. Hope MT can beat them next weekend.

We don't shoot it very well from the perimeter but scoring really isn't this teams problem. We are not a good defensive team. Our defensive strategy seems to be hoping the opposition is cold and we shoot a high percentage. Norton is a gutty player and made some tough shots late today but he is a defensive liability. Darling isn't much better. Both those guys need to offset that with perimeter shooting but each is around 30% from 3 for the season. Scootie has been pretty solid but even he had a hard time staying in front of the ball today.

We have to play better defense to improve as a team and a program.

Scootie needs to finish at the rim. He had lots of good drives but couldn't hit the layup.

Haha had another offensive no-show game. He did rebound well, except for when Auburn was shooting free throws.

The refs were bad both ways.

RE: Auburn thread
We haven't beaten an SEC team since November 2010.

I think these are our High Major wins in this decade:

VCU 2010 (Final Four team)
@Arkansas 2010
Rutgers 2013
Nebraska 2013
UNC 2013 (made it to 2nd Round NCAA)
NCAA First Round Iowa State 2015

Rutgers and Nebraska are not strong basketball programs. The quality wins for UAB are so few and far between.

RE: Auburn thread
After reading the thread I question my own opinions of the game..I saw a team fight back from a big hole against an SEC team.
I dont care who they are missing, we are missing players also...for example Iwpuld have loved to have Jack, Steve, Mincy from their youth playing for UAB...You play with the team you have...
Our guys played hard, yes I wish Ha Ha had Cokes energy, but Ha Ha is a good player for us...I wished he would play harder, but we have to play with the team we have.
Bryant missed some layups, but he also missed some because he was fouled.
We are not in the game, if Norton, Bryant, Coke, Darling, Ha Ha, Sullivan and Perry didn't play hard...
Look think about this, this team really played in its first HOSTILE ENVIRONMENT PERIOD...we will not see a team of Auburn caliber, that played that well for a half in Conference....we won't encounter that environment. we will not see that assortment of mashed talent in Conference...
We will be fine...some of you guys blew the team off when we were down by double digits....I asked myself, what type of UAB fans are these guys....I had positive energy for the team lose or win. Do or die...I ride with BLAZERS...that's not
to say, you can't criticize your team. I have and will when I see reason to...but I try to make it positive. Like call a time out...rebound..block out...get back on D...that's just fan participation ...the top 8 players have been identified and I believe the coach got it right.
Go Blazers rebounder2U.

RE: Auburn thread
Don’t think we should ban folks. This is the place for Blazer fans to speak their opinions. Despite whether we all agree, as long we keep it clean and don’t take personal shots at each other. Don’t see why some should be banned. Let em vent and stop pretending like we are happy about the state of what used be our top sport. I’d hate to be banned and not be able to chat with other Blazer fans. I couldn’t figure out all the password/ username stuff so I made a new profile. I’m mainly here to discuss recruiting stuff anyways.

We haven’t had a “quality” road win since maybe the Arizona game in 08-09. It’s 2017.
