Wow, glad he came for a visit! We're not even on his list of 50 schools, how did we get him to campus? He's already taken official visits to FIU, Kansas and Oklahoma St. Southern Miss is his 4th official visit. I don't even see where we offered him.

If someway we could pull him in, that would be a huge win!

almost forgot...IF he does commit to USM (maybe his grades are on the bubble), he drops to a 3 STAR OR 2 STAR

Younger brother is 3 star OL John Bolding who is committed to FIU. That's why the experts on 247Sports.com are predicting Humphrey will commit to FIU as well. We've offered Bolding....but so has BAMA? Hmmm.

What a boost to any CUSA team to pull these two into the fold. Sure hope Hop and the boys can pull this one off!!!!

I believe it is 5 OFFICIAL visits. You can have as many UN- official visits as you can pay for. Schools don't pay for travel or rooms on unofficial visits.

Our young WR coach from East Texas is 'cruitin' like a maniac....only time will tell how successful he is...but at least he ain't going after the 2 star sleepers!

I'm just happy to see our recruiting improving from previous years. Even under Monken, our recruiting wasn't that hot. I know for a fact that many coaches respect Hopson a lot more than any of our previous three coaches. That does play a factor. But getting them on campus and getting them to sign a paper are two different things. We'll see what happens.

Looks like they are going to FIU....I guess they like playing in front of 2,000 people!

Or he didn't want to compete with the 3 DT's we've already got committed. Carswell is gonna be a force!

Where did you see news that top 10 programs backed off Tayland? Bama offered in April, then offered his brother nov 16 so that Tayland would give them serious consideration. Tayland did an official visit to OSU at the end of November. His top 2 schools were OSU and FIU because we were earliest to offer John.

Some of our fans sound like SEC fans when we get a nice commitment. Can’t fathom how two young athletes would rather spend their next few years on South Beach instead of Hattiesburg. Must be partial qualifiers!

and some fans know FACTS: Most schools in C-USA take partials, but we do not.

and some fans have trouble with reading comprehension: I "said" TOP 10 teams backed off, not USM...

I'm sure 2 young athletes would rather play in front of 500 people in South Beach instead of 100,000, on national TV, at Bama or LSU, right?

But jumping to conclusions, and defending other schools besides USM, IS a time-honored tradition on USM sports boards!
