CRistobal went on to be the OL Coach at Alabama under Saban and then the Co-OC at Oregon under Taggart last year.

Total head-scratcher...

I thought Taggert was a bad hire for them...now, they decide to continue perpetuating this complete change of culture from the Chip Kelly era.

If I was Oregon, I would have thrown the kitchen sink at Scott Frost.

RE: Christobal To Be Oregon Head Coach
Cristobal should help them hold on to most of their highly rated recruiting class. This has the potential to be a great hire for Oregon if he was able to learn much about coaching from Saban. Cristobal is as good a recruiter as there is in college football. I still wonder how good FIU would be today had he still been there.

Nothing could beat out Frost going home to Nebraska....

The knock on Cristobal at FIU was that the X's and O's just weren't getting it done. Much like Charlie Partridge at FAU. Perhaps hes learned under Saban and Taggart how to get that done.

I'm just happy its filled as its one less place I have to worry about poaching Kiffin or Briles.

Wasnt he fired after an 8-4 regular season and a bowl game?

It wasn't performance based firing....more like freebased firing, but I think all that was debunked later

Clearly FSU doesn’t agree with you.

RE: Christobal To Be Oregon Head Coach
There is an offensive line coach at Marshall he has worked with before that I would highly recommend as a member of the Oregon staff. How the mighty have fallen, with all the Nike money this is the best they could do?

He's not a bad coach at all imho. He already knows the players and my guess is that they pushed for his hire

You don't like Mirabal Fifteen? I think he's pretty darn good...

The following year he went 3-9 with a ton of seniors on the roster. I do think he should have been given one more year to see where things were at, but to be honest, I would guess it would have probably been another 3-4 win season. I am very thankful for what Cristobal did for the program, but I am also very thankful to have Butch Davis as our coach now. If only we didn't have to have Ron Turner fill the gap...

I will add, I'm sure MC learned a lot under Saban. He may be a much better head coach now. I wish him nothing but the best (except for him to not recruit South FL!).

Not since Nebraska is his alma mater. That was a strong appeal to him I am sure.

Yea Thunder, Mirabal is not my favorite. Our OL recruiting I feel has been our best area yet we never can establish a running game, even against the teams weakest against the run. I know our play calling is a factor, but we have had announcers, formerly OL who talk about how bad our techniques are etc.

not always a good thing. LSU pushed for Orgeron...and he will be a disaster for them too.

Oregon had only 77 yards of offense in the first half under Cristobal... Not ideal.
