Ticket Market
Is there a board centric ticket market? Dont want to jinx anything, but I have a buddy who is willing to fly in from LA next week but wants to buy club level seats. Anyone know the best option on the secondary market for those?

Just checked StubHub and there are Club Seats available for tonight's game ($125 & $145 per ticket). I know you are looking for next week, but they may come available via the online brokers similar to this week. Good luck.

I think you have to be a club eligible donor to purchase them through JMU, but if you make a few calls I'm sure they could come up with something for you.

How many tickets is your buddy looking for in the club area?

Help me with what you mean about that. I'm a DC member, but not one at the $2,500 per annum level or whatever is required to get club-level seats -- though God knows I've been sending the school a lot more than that annually in tuition etc. Don't I have to be at that level to buy club seats, even for playoff games? Have you heard of instances in which they've allowed purchases of club seats for lower-level DC members?

So if you get them through StubHub you're basically just piggybacking off of the seller's DC donation and don't have to make an additional donation yourself? (Also, BTW, I don't see any available now.)

Playoff tickets are separate from season tickets, yes? i.e., regardless of what section and DC donation you have for season tix, you have the option to buy playoff tickets week-by-week or not buy them, yes? And, perhaps some in the Club Seats section chose not to buy tickets which would then make them available to the general public? The ones at online brokers at any game have nothing to do with DC donations. If you give enough to the DC to qualify and purchase the Club Seats, you can turn around and sell them online at whatever price you want.

I have been in this situation before. The athletic office will NOT sell you club tickets for the playoffs without you being a director level donor.
The time I needed club tickets, a member of this message board was super nice enough to buy the tickets for me since he was at the correct donation level, then I pay-palled him the money. Short of that happening again, Stubhub is the only option for club seats without a $3000 donation

You know, I'm glad we apparently have enough donors able to throw down 3,000 clams for the privilege of purchasing those seats during the regular season -- but if the seats are going to go empty for the playoffs then it seems to me that it's counterproductive for JMU to refuse to sell unsued ones to lower level peon DC members who want to buy them. My two cents.

RE: Ticket Market
My opinion has been that once the Duke Club priority deadline ends for any given playoff game that ALL seats should be up for grabs for anyone who wants to purchase them. Price the Club level seats higher than regular reserved seats if you like, but I bet a lot of folks would a) think more about going to a playoff game if they could get a reserved seat that was not in the nosebleed areas or b) more folks would be willing to pay for a reserved seat than general admission for the same reason. It was so strange to see huge chunks of the 100-level sections completely barren last week while 200 and 300 level seats were much fuller.

RE: Ticket Market

i thought i saw 15,000 somewhere. that would be pretty good. And i'm sure it's mostly die-hards and students, so probably loud !

Don’t judge us Director level givers as not without a heart... don’t expect us to welcome a straight handout though.
