Betting the ETSU folks don't waste $25 million on a coaching change.

Hearing the new coach could be George Quarles, assistant at Furman

I wonder if this is of his own volition or if he's being relieved of duty?

It's time. Kennesaw is 11-2 and still playing. We packed up weeks ago. Torbush was maybe a steady hand to get the program going but the results never came. There were some good moments and some progress made but momentum was being lost. Quarles won 11 state titles at Maryville. Let's hope he still has the winning formula.

Sources close to ETSU alum & Maryland associate HC and “ace recruiter” Chris Beatty said that he is interested in speaking with ETSU, if they enter the search for a new head football coach.

Torbush Leaving
If you don’t give it to Billy Taylor, does he leave? I would hate to lose him, he’s proven he can run a pretty good defense.

RE: Torbush Leaving
I would leave if I were Taylor and didnt get the job over those names being talked about.

Would be great to promote Taylor to HC and bring in the Furman OC into the same position. Is anyone going to be happy if we hire a new HC but keep O'Cain?

I gotta think there's a zero percent chance that a new HC would retain the OC. Maybe they would push for Taylor to stay because of the connections.

Bill Taylor needs to be HC, and rebuild the staff. Although somebody we should look at for HC or OC is Bob Stitt from Montana.

As a person, they don’t get much better than Torbush. Hope he enjoys retirement.

Billy Taylor has always bled blue and gold. He’d be a great HC. Bring in an OC that will make the Bucs exciting.

IMO, this would be a fantastic hire. Quarles won 11 state titles in 18 years at Maryville. People around the region know who he is and respect what he has done, and he can win local recruiting battles. He's a great offensive coach and play-caller, something ETSU is in dire need of.

Hire Quarles, make Taylor the Associate Head Coach and let him call the defense... that would be great for ETSU football.

I respect what Quarles has accomplished, but he benefitted from a massive talent disparity at Maryville. College head coaching is a completely different test than that of high school.

I'd be totally content with Billy Taylor getting a crack at the job.
