RE: Ohio State
Six point deficit when Nathan picked up 3rd foul with eight minutes to go in first half...then ballooned to 16 at half with him out of there. And that was pretty much it.
Tough day for both Milon (who hardly shot) and Pierce...both will bounce back.
Cohn, however, continues his superlative game...he is indefatigable.
Tony pointed out after game this was their third road game, including 16 hours of bus travel to and from Savannah State, so easy to see why we wilted so in second half. And now a long bus ride home from Columbus due to snow conditions.
This team will have many more good days than days like this.
Looking forward to hear Tony at his luncheon at Anna's on December 19th.

And maaaaaybe just a little bit of defense would be cool.

RE: Ohio State
Opponents have shot over 50% against W&M 5 times this season. 3 times this year a team has shot 60% against W&M. They've played 8 games against 1-A opposition. Every 1-A team except for Hampton and Savannah State had a higher field goal percentage against W&M than they've had on average this season. Ohio State is the best offense W&M has seen this year (per KenPom) and it showed. The refs aren't the reason this team is bad at defense.

Not quite buying into Luke being anywhere near Cohn's current level next season.

One is inexperienced at the college level and the other is a 5th year senior. It's rare for us to recruit an 18 yo who can fill the shoes of a 22 yo. Marcus, Omar, and Nate are recent exceptions. Let's keep reasonable expectations.

Reading the post-game Buckeye site .... here is what W&M will have to address going forward:
Ohio State ran their offense through the post (Ohio State coach on video)
Ohio State on defense took away Milon and Burchfield (Tony)

And none of the three you list were anywhere near as good in their freshmen season as their second, third, and fourth. Loewe has something unique compared to most of our recruits. He's built like a brick. Not sure if that was lifting over the summer or his natural build, but he should be durable and tough. Similar to Tot, but shorter.
Cohn, is the fastest point guard I've seen since Curtis Pride and he's a better basketball player. Not a lot of players will compare with Cohn when it's all said and done.
