RE: Kilpatrick
Killa had a really strong end to his season playing for the Bulls. Averaged 18 ppg in the month of April while shooting nearly 50% from 3 pt range. Hopefully his late season performance motivates the Bulls to take his two year contract option.

Eerily similar situation and numbers to when he was given a full run-out by the Nets at the end of the 15-16 season. Got him a contract with them, and I'm guessing it will have the Bulls pick up his option for this next year as well. He's an extremely cheap bench scorer on the option they'd have him for...especially given that they're in full rebuild. His defensive numbers are still really bad though...

RE: Kilpatrick
Why does everyone keep knocking his defense? When he was at UC, I always thought his defense was better than his offense (he was merely a volume scorer on offense - those are a dime a dozen).

(1) He became a solid college defender.
(2) The idea that his defense was better than his offense is insane.
(3) He's a below average NBA defender (and that may be generous) and the numbers back that up.

He's a 6'4 shooting guard with limited athleticism. Not a lot of guys for him to guard.

RE: Kilpatrick
I went to the last Bulls game of the season (he got the start) and he definitely got burned badly a few times on defense. Some may be just due to unfamiliarity with the defensive scheme with a new team, but some definitely was him losing his guy. That said, some of the scrubs they had playing looked worse on defense and couldn't hit the broadside of a barn on offense. Bulls had at least 3 starters out of action that night which led to a lot of PT for players who normally don't get it.

On O, he looked pretty solid. Some standing around positioning for a jumper and some nice drives. He did make quit an impression over 2 weeks - particularly that 19 point 4th quarter game which got some of the press here to notice (hard to ignore when the Bulls were trying to lose for draft position and one guy won't let it happen). So hopefully the Bulls keep him on.

"Kilpatrick had signed a three-year deal in March, but the last two years were non-guaranteed team option years, which means the Bulls aren't on the hook for any of his remaining salary."

With a non-guaranteed contract, you had to see this coming.

Hope he catches on somewhere else this year.

With each new draft one has to wonder if his time in the NBA is coming to a close. I suspect he could continue his career overseas for several more years and bank a lot of money. He's an all-time great Bearcat and I think we all wish him the very best.

I too think he's nearing the end of the road in the NBA. Volume scorer with soon to be aging skills. His percentages are average, at best.

Never mind that though, to your point, the overseas markets will suit him well. Hopefully he's being wise with his earned income.

Keep us posted. Maybe I’m crazy but I’m still holding out hope that he can get one more Chance in the NBA. Maybe a month or two. Maybe even finally break through for two or three years.

My money is on he's all but done in the NBA. He's had a lot of chances at this point, and he's not getting any younger, and his skill set apparently isn't growing fast enough.

I hope he manages his finances well.

Yeah, with the new CBA he'll be hitting certain veteran minimums, so he costs too much for what he offers at this point. He should cash some nice checks for a few years in exotic locales, then retire. Hell, we've got a lot of guys who have made some solid careers out of that already from those early 10's teams.

Yancy is a starter for the top team in the French League averaging 13/7 (off season) and is a starter for the 5th place team in the Mexican League averaging 12/9
Mbodj is a starter for a top 3 team in the Polish League averaging 12/6
Dion is a starter for the top team in the Argentine League averaging 16 points on 55/43 shooting splits
Justin Jackson is a starter for the leaders of the Cypriot League averaging 14/9 with 2 blocks per game
Deonta Vaughn plays with JJ and is averaging 8/5 assists at the moment.
Ibrahima Thomas is averaging 13/10 in the Lebanese league
Rashad Bishop averaged 16 ppg in the Portuguese League last year.
Adam Hrycaniuk is oddly still playing in Poland, averaging 5/5 in sub duty
Octavious Ellis is the 6th man for the Greek League leaders, averaging 7/5
Corry DeBerry is averaging 7/4 in Portugal
Farad Cobb is averaging 11/3/3 in Brazil

Yeah, it's incredible how good the money is overseas.

About 5-10 years back, a guy who was the 6th man at Dayton as a senior told my brother he was making $300,000 a year playing overseas. I was skeptical about that dollar amount until I asked my co-worker (who had played in the 3rd division in Lebanon) and he said that most foreign leagues limit the number of Americans to 2-3 per team, or even 1 for poorer leagues. And since those are always the best players, 300k is a reasonable salary for the top league of even in a mid-level European country.

Yeah, it's not bad at all. I'd take it in a heartbeat.

I've known some guys that have done it. D. Little is down here in ATL, and I run into him every once in a while. He seems to have been smart about his money, and is doing well. I get the feeling that in the end guys love it at first, but at a point it wears on you as you're ultimately going to miss home. You're relatively isolated when playing, and unless you're just that type of person that's comfy with making home away from home....that longing for the US eventually takes over.
