Record AAC Championship Game TV Ratings (8 Million plus watch UCF in 2 weeks)
What's even more this year's AAC Championship TV Rating, it was the first AAC game that had to go head to head to a Big 12 Championship Game...as this was the first Big 12 Title game since it was stopped years ago.

2017 AAC Championship Game
2.3 Rating, 3.385 Million Viewers, UCF/Memphis Noon ABC

2016 AAC Championship Game
1.4 Rating, 2.050 Million Viewers, Navy/Temple Noon ABC

2015 AAC Championship Game
1.8 Rating, 2.450 Million Viewers, Houston/Temple Noon ABC

UCF was also coming off a record AAC Conf Game TV Ratings record off the previous week's Black Friday Game when that game drew 4.7 Million Viewers so in back to back weeks, over 8 Million people watched UCF Football.

Now that's P6!

That's awesome to hear. Hopefully that can be used to our advantage when discussing a new tv contract

Considering Aresco had zero AAC track record/performance to use last time around...record tv ratings certainly can't hurt this time around.

UCF is certainly part of the equation of the welcome strong ratings, but USF, Memphis, and close exciting games played a role also.

This conf has plenty to sell. 2 years ago it was UH. Navy is valuable. Memphis has turned the corner and is fun to watch, USF is a player.

This is one of the of the things that drove KNIGHTTIME’s algorithm in the program he wrote that projects we’re probably going to get around $18million per team per year in the next contract negotiation...

And these ratings are being had with virtually no broadcaster PR. Leading up to the CCG, ESPN did virtually nothing but non-stop P-5 promo.

In the long run, I think sacrificing money for exposure was a good move. Having out games on TV every week is a big deal and its enhanced our brand with casual fans, etc. During the next round we go for exposure and money.

Great job. Curious to know how the other conf. champ games did but too lazy to look up.

Edit: Nevermind, I just saw the other thread on that topic.

Curious what the rating could have been without going head to head with Big 12.

well if we want the game on a saturday you have to go up against a P5 conference and you don't want the 3:30/4 PM slot going up against the SEC or the 8 PM one going up against the B10. if you're gonna go up against a P5 conference it needs to be one of the weaker 3.
