WBB Game 9: ODU (1-7) vs VCU (0-6)
Let's be honest. A team that is 0-6 playing a team that is 1-7 is not going to get "game of the week" honors. But this game will always be important to the fans. So throw out the records. It's VCU. The Rams have a young team and are in rebuild. They have no seniors, two juniors (and a red shirt sophomore), and five freshmen.
The Rams (0-6) schedule has a lot of ODU connectoins. RPI: 342 SOS: 312

I don't want to go to much into the stats. The leading scorer for VCU is a freshman, they play three palyer almost the entire game. This is a winable game for ODU in my opinion..and it's pretty rare when a 1-7 team will be the favored team. :-)
Controlling the rebound will be important in this game. Yes there numbers are slightly better than ours, but I think that is mostly due to playing a softer schedule. I would really like to see ODU get off to a fast start. So far in the first quarter we are averaging a whooping 9.6 in 10 minutes of play. Our opponents are outscoring us 18 points in the first quarter. It's no fun playing catch up right out of the box.
If ODU fans can make it to the game, please go They might need that extra sixth man to make a difference.
