I could be wrong, but my assumption is ALL bleachers will have railbacks except the student section. All premium seats will be chairbacks.

Last number I saw was 22,000 but who really knows.

RE: NEW stadium construction
When I was talking about comfort, I should have included the rail backs. That backrest should be welcomed in open arms for anyone who has tried to watch a game at Foreman with a knee in their back.

This. Anyone behind you that's over 6' is all up in your back. Edit. Actually more like 5'10".

I'm 6'4. It's awful. You feel bad for entering someone else's personal space and do your best to avoid it, but also have a knee in your back. So, I stand.

I am trying to push these. I think it gives the stadium a cool look, saves money for ODU on other seating options, you dont have to carry your seat back to the stadium, and its another revenue stream for the school.

I got this couple who come wasted to the games in front of me and knowingly lean back to rest on my legs and knees every dang game. I jump up at random times and sometimes one of them will fall backward hitting the bench I'm on. 04-chairshot

I saw them kind of seats at Liberty, I think they had them renting for $5.

"The new stadium will have an estimated 5,800 chair-back seats, and they will be 22 inches wide. There will also be an estimated 9,700 or so bench bleacher seats, with 18 inches of space."

They are typically like 50 for the season. Say you get 3,000 of those. Thats 150k per year you didn't have before.

I saw that as I sent that.

Anyways Im ok with following the FAU blueprint if we can get as many seats as they have eventually (meaning within the next 5-7 years)

Me too, but I want the end zone and suites also.

Yes. There is no reason ODU shouldn’t have the best 30k stadium in Conference USA in 5 years or so

Should've done it 5 years ago.

Now it looks like 30k isn't even feasible unless you're privately-owned.

I don't think we need 30k seats, maybe 25k. Houston isn't selling out their new 40k seat stadium. Then there's this, Bama students leaving at halftime. Link.

In correct...not all seats will have seat backs. The budget came in too high for all seats to have seat backs. Only 40 yard line to 40 yard line will have seat backs. Those seats will likely demand a premium set price.

I think we need 30k and probably no more. I think there is something about the number that isn't small time but is realistic. If I recall 32k was he max we think we could it on that spot and if so I'm sure that will work for us. I just like saying 30k over 20 something. :)

Posted from mobile device. Hopefully it's coherent.

RE: NEW stadium construction
Yeah, 30k does sound more like FBS than 20k. I do think a non-ACC P5 would be more willing to come to our place if that number was 30k. Either way, at least our stadium isn't going to look unfinished.
