Tailgating/Parking on Friday
Has it been released when lots/field parking will be opening on Friday night? I can't seem to find details about timing on JMUSports.com

Just curious as to when folks are going to be able to get on campus to tailgate/park. 04-cheers #GoDukes

RE: Tailgating/Parking on Friday
I was thinking it was 4 pm last year, hopefully it's a little earlier. Whatever time it is, I'll be in P Lot at that time.

IIRC it was 3:30 last year. Also haven't seen anything published.

RE: Tailgating/Parking on Friday
The digital parking pass that I received for the game this week says: "Field parking lots open at 2 p.m., all other lots at 3:30 p.m."

11:00 PM go to Sheetz for pizza, because for whatever reason, the real pizza places close at 10:30, which I learned after SHSU. Oh sure, they'll deliver after a 2 hour wait but I have a 10 year old that is already a cold hot mess that wants to eat and even though he never saw a pizza he didn't like, Sheetz is pretty terrible.

You're gonna want that Ciro's or that Anthony's on South Main. I'm sure there's a million more now, but those are my two standbys. Of course, Benny's is good, but a chain.

Thanks for the advice. I didn't know where to go in a post-Luigis world.

Don't know about that. But it's d*mn good. Definitely my first choice for that elusive 11 pm slice we're considering.

Do they do hospitality tent for playoff games? I got my tickets and parking in my email, but no hospitality passes?

Is that the same Ciro's that's in Waynesboro and Elkton?

Don't know. Think there might be some family relation. Haven't been to the one in W'boro. I actually like the one in Elkton, but it's very different. More of a sit down italian restaurant that's better than what you'd imagine being in Elkton. The one in H'burg raised the prices a bit on it a few years ago, but their Pizza Roll is great and one of the best food bargains in the area, IMHO. For years it was like $3.95. Still a solid choice at $5.50.

RE: Tailgating/Parking on Friday
Unlike NASCAR tailgates, I'm pretty sure there's no open fires on campus. (Understandably) Wouldn't it be great if the fine folks with Harrisonburg Fire/EMS could sponsor a pre-game tailgate and bonfire? Especially with the late season (colder) playoff games. I'm guessing they could raise some significant funds if they asked for a donation to attend.

Years ago for the Montana game (I think, it was definitely that year) me and my buddies took a handsaw to some small trees there in hillside and had a pretty open fire in our grill. This was back before they banned charcoal grills.

I’m thinking about picking up one of those propane powered space heaters for Friday. I regretted not pulling the trigger for the SHSU game last year.

Those propane charcoal fire pits are pretty cool as in WARM. or just walk over to spot #175 and warm up at your leisure.
