What are we denying? That our coach is on the wanted board? We're kind of happy about that. Don't WANT to lose him but from what I'm reading, everyone is wishing him the best go or stay.

My thought is, no matter what conference UT is in, we're still a stepping stone regardless the pay. Only way we keep a coach is as others have said, we find a Solich/Bowden type that wants to settle in. Bless their heart if Candle's family is happy here but even so, we dont have the money to pay his assistants what they can get on the market. He'll be constantly filling positions. I'd be surprised if the OC and DC put in a second less on the job than the HC.

He gave his best so we do wish him the best.

Anything is plausible during this process. Coaches lie all of the time, when it comes to interviewing for another job, especially if they aren't the front runner. So may be he interviewed, maybe there was the possibility of an interview, etc. The only thing he is going to say is that he was just out recruiting. That's the nature of the business.
