This wasn’t a game I thought we’d struggle with at the beginning of the season, so I’m glad we won. Detroit isn’t better than a mid-MAC team, and we’ll need to win those games in conference play. Big opportunity to take a step forward Saturday against a decent Marshall team that beat us last season. Right now, every win we can steal without Willie Jackson could be the key to ending above .500 for the season.

5-3 First road win. Next up Marshall.

More concerned we blew a 13 point win with under 5 min to go. Nothing like keeping it interesting. Its always close when we play Detroit.

Glad we got the win. Looks like a coaching opportunity was left on the table. We really need to learn to hold the ball longer when we have a 12 point lead with 5 minutes left. Marshall on Saturday is going to be tough I think. I am guessing we will see another barn burner with both teams in the high 80's or maybe even the 90's.

UDM was clearly looking for the go-ahead 3 on that last possession, and they were going to have a great look, as Fletcher was about to be screened, and Knapke may not have gotten out with the help in time. I don't trust our perimeter D to force a Miss at that part of the game, and am convinced he saved the game with that foul, even though it allowed them to tie it up. That 4 point play in which he fouled the shooter however is a different story however. Seems like it's happened so often that a nearly insurmountable lead disappears very quickly when our opponents reach desperation mode, which I guess will never change with this team. Still, awesome way to end it, and a win's a win—always wild up there in Calihan Hall!

That in-bounds play has won us at least two buzzer beaters, although Boothe to Juice against Buffalo in Nathan’s freshman year was my favorite. Looked like Detroit was ready for the pass back to Sanford so Tre just fired it up. Road wins are always good.
