I'd like to know how that works!

Its like ifs and butts. If we don't block the kick and they make it, they win and we don't. Its like if the receiver that should of caught the ball against UNT we win but he doesn't so they win that's a 2 way swing one loss and one win for equal, I think we are very fortunate to have the win loss record that we have.

Our top WR just decommited from us. That is another reason you want an innovative offense that kids like to play in.

If you change the OC, our offensive personnel still has some limitations. We are a defensive football team. Let's play the what if game. What if we threw the ball 3-4 more times a game. Let's say they are unsuccessful attempts. That easily could give La tech, middle Tennessee, and UTSA 2 more minutes on the clock to come back and win. We could just as easily have more losses. Running the ball shortens the game, and it worked in our favor. Just saying.

Now let me say that I am not crazy about the play calling either on offense for that matter but we have had some high power spread offenses that did not generate into wins for one reason or another.

I will say that they are playing to our strengths, we are down two guys at TE, big time running back, and we do not have a WR that can stretch a defense and oh I might add we are two plays from 10 wins and the opportunity of getting thumped by FAU this season. I dont think we would be sitting here with 8 wins trying to sling it all over the place.

I liked BV as well but I dare say no matter our OC we would be conservative any way this season.

As far as UNA to clear up the confusion, they will be FCS (Old IAA) in football and DI just like us in all other sports including basketball.

The biggest issue we had on offense is that we had ZERO D1 quality offensive tackles on the roster. We played the entire season with 1 center and 4 guards on the line, with another guard as our lone backup.

The consequence of us having so little length on the outside of our line is that we couldnt pass protect. Early in the season our QB was getting killed and to prevent this we pretty much decided to go to a short passing game and to keep two extra blockers in to helpwhen we wanted to pass deep, usually a RB and TE.

Hard to have a dynamic passing game when you only have 3 receivers out running routes.

Yep. Great observation Matt. We really need an upgrade on the O-line as well. Add it all up and we could not sling it around if we wanted to. We should have some help on the way at tackle.

I'm sure you know. we have one big game left and that is to whip Ohio they have players from, Ohio, Nebraska and Florida. Its a new rival for the next 3 weeks and we have to have a win, so better get the men ready. The Defense must shine. Coach Solich, and team has to meet the true green of the Blazers.

It's a good thing we signed all of those JUCO OL in last December. 3 of them are starters!

We have WO's who can stretch the field, don't know if can get em the ball. Spot on about our situation at OT. Think we've fixed it somewhat with Wood and hopefully Ragland ( saw he's warm on us on 247). I know Ragland busted around the rice game with the Raptors throwback on.

I also think Patrick Nuss and Garrett Morgan are prototype tackles with a bright future. Nuss is 6-7, Morgan is 6-6. Morgan is a little beefier than Nuss. Both were true freshmen this year. Look forward to see how much they've progressed in spring and fall camp.

Morgan is a walkon right? Not that it really matters as the best will play. I've been looking for mt. Furlow and Devon Isaac to show something.

Vincent would not surprise me at all, with him being around so much lately.......don't think you will see Jones here though.

I have firm intel that we were interviewing OC candidates prior to the start of the season.

Les is gone after the bowl game. Maybe before.

I think Les was looking toward FAU back then....pretty sure they don't need him anymore.

He was trying to get an offensive analysis/QC type job at Alabama right before fall camp.
