Pick the MAC bowl games
Some nice MAC bowl games (and, of course, some, one[?] clunkers):

1). I like NIU/Duke at Ford Field. Type of G5/P5 match up we like. Crowd could be a real issue here.

2). TOL vs. Appy State could be a good one. Both teams score almost as much as men's basketball teams do. Both are conference champs.

3). CMU/WYO could be also good one. What's the status of WYO's highly touted QB, Josh Allen? Morris vs. Allen could be a good one for a G5 bowl game. In bowl games casual viewers come to see offense and QBs.

4). Ohio/UAB in the Bahamas. I went last year for EMU's game and highly recommend it. We had a nice pep rally at the Atlantis, there is a casino there, etc. For those who want to spend money, they can in this nice resort. UAB is a Cinderella team and this bowl likes Cinderellas (last year EMU and ODU).

5). Akron/FAU in the Boca Raton bowl game. Akron faces another very tough match-up on friendly turf. Friendly turf for their OPPONENTS. Afraid this game could be ugly.

Curious what the point spreads will be on these games.

Not MAC-related but I see a lot of other interesting bowl games involving one or two non-P5 teams.

For example, SDSU vs. Army. Texas Tech vs. USF. Fresno vs. Houston. Iowa State vs. Memphis (in Memphis). UCF vs. Auburn.

Today's USA Today sports section has the match ups (all) and the expected point spreads based on the Sagarins.

Allen's status is unknown, due to a shoulder injury.

RE: Pick the MAC bowl games
I say Duke, Toledo, CMU, Ohio, and FAU.

Poor Akron is extremely outmatched.

I don't think this Wyoming team is as good as the one NIU played last year and CMU is rolling right now.

Duke has the 22nd best defense in the country vs. NIU's terrible offense. Duke seems like a good bet, plus until Carey proves he can stop getting destroyed in bowl games I don't see us winning.

Ohio needs redemption after the way their season ended towards the end.

No one is stopping Toledo's offense so can't see it happening vs. App either.

Please disregard my prognostications for MAC games!! The more I follow the MAC, the less I know...

My radar seem better on the other games. SDSU/Army was one of the better games I saw all year. SDSU reminded me of EMU losing at the end.

Texas Tech/USF was also good.

Looking forward to the others I mentioned.

Based on my lack of MAC prognostication skills, I'm picking the Bengals and Falcons today and hope to be WRONG on both.

More like Capt. Hindsight. Didn't have the guts to make a prediction prior to the game here. 03-talktothehand
