Makes sense why Rod was in a “bad mood.” Sounds like Rod is a human being with emotions and everything. More on this development later.

I hope he gets an opportunity to play elsewhere. It's hard to say how skilled he actually is playing in the rudimentary NIU offense.
Good job Coach Carey for chasing this classy kid away

At some point we can’t keep making excuses for his crappy attitude. He’s supposed to be a professional. Anyways everyone saw he writing on the wall for Santa. He’s talented enough to find a better situation for him somewhere else.

I guess w defend stupidity at all costs.
Santa (a BACKUP qb) leaving is a defense to say kids wanted warm weather basically aren't excited.
He needs to face reality, understand opportunity. p5 close to home and your are you are upset why? You aren't playing in Dallas, FTL? Boise, AL so much more appealing. All for a guy that wasn't his future. He needs to grow up, see the big picture. Any defense of his response is an acceptance of his demeaning attitude.
Unacceptable.

A professional and the face of the team and representative of the university. I am sure Santa saw the writing on the wall as we did. Best of luck to him and I hope he excels wherever he lands.

Too bad, Santa seemed like a good kid with talent.
The sight of him coming off the field after the Nebraska game was priceless.

Do these kids ever excel once they leave?
I can't remember any of them really playing lights out.

I'll spell it out.
You got a bowl, close to home. Few hours drive for your base. 1 days stay, it that. Not 700-800 rt. Not warm weather? Did you see the Boise Fresno game yesterday? That's likely where they were headed. Sure , nor Dallas. But AL is so much better for team activities?
This is best case scenario other than maybe Dallas. And NimRod has to portray that he and the team will make the best of it? Please

RE: Santa leaving NIU
I thought Santa showed promise. Sure he threw a couple of stupid picks in the SDSU game, but I doubt very much we would have been in that game at all if someone else had played QB. I am disappointed Carey for giving up on him so quickly, unless there is more to the story. Not sure turning the QB reins over to Childers represented our best opportunity to win.

I wish good luck to Santa who seems to be a real classy guy. Met his father at tailgate for first game and he was first class and supportive of the coaching staff even when his son was not picked to play.

Unless his name is Urban Meyer, he should be content and act like the game is an accomplishment, reward for his team. Not a consolation prize.

Like everyone else I hope for the best for Santa whereber he goes. I thought Carey gave up on him too quickly so not surprised he is living. That will end up being a loss for us.

No Santa for Christmas?? what what what....oh.....SantaCanterina,,,whew...
Who is QB #2 for the bowl game? I take it Santa is now officially not a team member, and Graham was 'shut down' for the year, but does he have a chance to play if needed? I guess it's Thompson(?)
