I am assuming they sell beer at the game because it is a pro arena? Happy to grab a beer on the concourse before the game. Likely playing poker at Greektown Casino after game, assume they comp drinks although do not know.

Ford Field does serve alcohol.

You are now also one of my favorite people!

Two new notes on our team:

1. Linebacker Ben Humphreys was just announced as available. He was a starter and really good, but was injured about a month ago and missed the last few games. His replacement, FWIW, led the team in tackles in his absence.

2. Since our punter and FG kicker has been kicked off the team, William Holmquist will likely earn his chance. Great story — he is deaf, and takes out his hearing aid when kicking to block out the crowd. Was a kicker at Tufts, and is a grad transfer. Another possible punter, Parker Boehme, started at QB for us a few times in past seasons and also can run. So our kicking game should be interesting to say the least.

Rule of thumb used to be off campus alcohol, on campus none because of insurance. The off campus/nfl staDiums had the insurance already. That Is changing fast as campus are serving, at least in places, certain areas of stadiums like NIU.

Exceptions are conference tourneys such as for basketball (ones I have been to at least) and NCAA sponsored post season. Bowl games are not NCAA post season sanctioned.

Good for him. They may have been hoping for a different bowl but to suggest they'd turn it down is dumb. We were willing to play last year at 5-7, little notice with no practices and most of the players already off campus. I hope we make the most of this opportunity against a quality acc opponent and a great coach.

Doesn't take much to be a "reporter" in today's world.

All day I watched players and coaches celebrate wins like they won the Super Bowl. Amazing acting job from everyone as we all know that bowl games are meaningless and no ones cares.

If I am wrong please correct me. The only one here that said bowl games are "meaningless" has been MD. Others have attached more or less significance to them, but no one else had said/thinks bowl games are "meaningless". No matter what one may think, most agree that wins over P5 teams are significant/important, even when they might be considered weaker P5 teams. Given that I don't see how even MD (or anyone else) could think the Duke bowl game is "meaningless".

Put 7 in that category. His season is over.

I’m fairly certain that 7 didn’t think that bowl games were meaningless, but I could be wrong. MD was the only one I could remember that felt that way. Can’t wait for the game vs Duke!

This is a more exciting matchup to me than the BC game. Nebraska, Toledo, duke then BC. Great way to end our season especially with some hardware

Most thrilling signature NIU win for me remains Maryland. Watching the players and Novak in ecstasy at the conclusion of the game 15 long years ago with an INT in end zone was special. It opened doors to legitimacy.

The outrage of course is Huskies finished 10-2 and without a bowl game invite.

I really think a victory over Duke will be so significant. End a dreadful run in Bowl games and get a boneyard victory in the process. I believe every game and victory is precious and worth celebrating. Fair or not, the Huskies are always battling for respect in the court of public opinion- a P5 victory right now would be frickin huge IMO.

GO HUSKIES! Love the Dogs!04-rock

The momentum going into next year with a bowl win would be huge. Especially with a tough out of conference schedule.
