MSNBC Host's Blog Contains Homophobic Conspiracy Theories & Anti-LGBT Content
First racist comments, and now this. I'd like to get Tom's thoughts on this one. Should MSNBC give a platform to a bigot known to spread homophobic conspiracy theories, bizarrely accusing a twice-married, heterosexual man of being gay (like it's a bad thing)?
Cernovich is on this story, so don’t be surprised if he assembles his troops to contact MSNBC's advertisers, and the alt-left's favorite Saturday morning host is soon taken off the air.
Quote:MSNBC Host Joy Reid Wrote Numerous Anti-Gay Articles on Her Old Blog
Recently resurfaced internet archives show political commentator Joy Reid wrote a dozen blog posts in 2007, 2008, and 2009 that contained homophobic conspiracies and anti-gay jokes.
The MSNBC weekend host ran a blog called The Reid Report — which is the same name as her now-defunct cable news show — a decade ago while she wrote for the Miami Herald. As first resurfaced by Twitter user Jamie_Maz, Reid wrote numerous bigoted blog posts smearing, mocking, and attacking former Florida governor Charlie Crist. These rants included calling Crist “Miss Charlie” and sarcastically using the tags “gay politicians” and “not gay politicians” — despite the fact that the twice-married, heterosexual man has never come-out as gay.
Reid went on to spread the crackpot conspiracy theory that Crist was actually a closeted gay man who refused to come out for fear that his sexual orientation would hurt his political career. Additionally, the AM Joy host claims Crist’s marriages to women are part of this elaborate cover up.
As bad as the conspiracy theory is in itself, Reid doesn’t just suggest Cris is gay — she assumes he is gay and proceeds to attack him for it. “Miss Charlie, Miss Charlie. Stop pretending, brother. It’s okay that you don’t go for the ladies,” wrote Reid in a 2007 post.
NBC is on full tilt. They can't help themselves but implode.
...on a more serious note, it's really interesting and concerning how all of this was just standard practice for DECADES. It really destroys the credibility of the media.
LOL. Do ANY of you disagree with her homophobic commentary and would ANY of you guys condemn that from a person with whom you agree with on other issues.
She said some bad things. She apologized. And more importantly, has moved on with advocacy against that which she originally advocated.
----
BTW, I don't believe all the rumors that person A or person B is closeted. But I've heard a LOT of them about Crist. Many more rumors than about Lindsay Graham. And then there's the whole outing argument.
I think that Barney Frank got it right, when trying to explain outing. "You have a right to privacy, but not to hypocrisy". Crist did do a bunch of things when he was Governor that were against the LGBT community.

And on the other side, you have the GOP falling in, lock step, behind a Fred Phelps level homophobe in Alabama.
LOL?
Yes, of course. I disavow all violence and bigotry regardless of political affiliation. See how easy that was?
But now for a 2nd time, you can't say the same. First, the radical, alt-left terrorist attack on Blair White, and now this. Sad.

Your hypocrisy is showing.
I bet he also thinks that Roy Moore (who's allegations only came out in the run up to an election and have not being proved) should go, but al franken (who has admitted to sexually assaulting women) and john conyers (who used taxpayer money to prey on women) can both stay.

Guys, you're way off topic here.
If you'd like to debate the merits of the statutory rape, sexual harassment, and sexual assault allegations by 10 different women against Roy Moore (who is currently running against a man accused of nothing bad), or the allegations against Al Franken or Conyers....you're free to do so. If you do, within the context of this thread wish to bring Roy Moore into it and a poster's personal opinions of him into it....then lets put up the MSNBC hosts statements up against Roy Moores statements and advocacy and we can discuss who I support and why and who you support and why.
I thought this topic was about the case of a person, who in the past, made a few remarks implying that a Florida Governor, who at the time supported a ban on Gay people adopting children or getting married, might himself have sex with men, Also noted, the speaker has apologized and has move on to be a pretty strong advocate of the LGBT community.

If this had been a conservative journalist that had made those comments your live and forget attitude would be 100% different. As I said your hypocrisy is showing. You have made being gay and posting about gay issues your number one motivation to post on this board. I have no problem with that, but when you excuse this liberal journalist and dismiss it so easily, you lose credibility on your number one issue.

like the masses with a clue didn't already know the idiots were idiots.....
it's surpassed hypocrisy......it's a mere attempt to continue to lie lie lie lie lie lie lie lie out the foxhole as the shite continues to pile on top....when you're getting pounded on a daily basis w/o an agenda, you simply leave the door open to continue to get pounded....
#assholesarepuckered
they deserve every piece from the grinder that is being bypassed within their capacity to design.....
#fuckem

If that was Fox News he would be screaming about FEMA camps for gays again.

Well, when you find a conservative journalist that actually is pro-Gay rights on policy issues that is being attacked by the LGBT community, then perhaps we can talk. And no, lets not talk about one off-hand statement either. Lets talk about who this 'conservative' person supports now.
Oh and if that 'supporter' supports Roy Moore....he's no supporter. There's no way to square that circle. If he supports Donald Trump as he leaves LGBT persons to be murdered by Trump's genocidal buddies in Russia, he's no supporter.
