You'll need to scroll down to find it, but it is here... http://www.showbuzzdaily.com/articles/sh...-2017.html

...#88 on the list under "Top 150 Original Cable Telecasts"

603K estimated viewers??? Not sure how to interpret the P2+ listing.

last year's Sam Houston game was 503k. So an increase of 100k from a year ago

Yes and it's the exact same week, channel and time slot too and this is with more americans cord cutting each year.

NDSU's saturday 12pm game was 849k on ESPN2. In case you all were wondering why the 12pm saturday time slot is really the prime spot, there's your proof. It typically draws better ratings.

Is the almost 250k difference just because it's NDSU? Eh, I doubt it.

So what were the ratings for the two Semifinal games last year? I’d expect ESPN 2 to draw more on a Friday than ESPN U on a Saturday, but maybe thats not true.

(scroll down to #9 under "Top 150 Cable Telecasts")

JMU-NDSU drew 1,065,000 viewers

Sat (YSU-EWU) 6:30pmET on ESPN-U: http://www.showbuzzdaily.com/articles/sh...-2016.html
(scroll down to #73 under "Top 150 Cable Telecasts")

YSU-EWU drew 457,000 viewers

No doubt that if NDSU hadn't been playing, the viewership would have been lower*. But the 250k over our viewership was because it was the only football game on a Saturday afternoon. I know of a handful of guys (with no affiliation with NDSU/JMU/FCS) that went from watching college gameday to watching the NDSU game as they waited around for the Army/Navy game to come on.

*I imagine a similar viewership if our game had been at that time slot but still NDSU easily pulls in top 3 viewerships of FCS.

Used to be Nielson called folks on the phone and asked what they were watching, they called our house when I was a kid.

These days companies like Comscore do it electronically, and many of the set top boxes also report back what channel is being watched, so I’d think its improved quite a bit. Depends how good their “statistical” sample is I guess.

Cannot wait for this road game and trip. The background scenery from the stadium there has to be up there with the most picturesque there is!

This is really great! If we can't get P5 FBS games against regional schools, and since G5 trash won't do a true home-and-home, I really love this kind of unafraid inter-sectional scheduling. Exactly what we've all been hoping for. And from seeing that place on tv in the playoffs a couple times the last few years, it is stunningly beautiful out there.

And for sure that Week 1 game in Year 2 at BFS could get moved to the Week 0 showcase for tv!

I’ll go ahead and start a thread about how Pluto TV sucks and this is what we get for staying FCS. I’ll also be the only person bothering to stand up for Pluto TV, reminding people that it’s free.

Look hard at what is being posted here. Now go and look again, this is why regular season games are so much greater than playoffs (not including the one championship game). People can and will plan on great games against great competition. They want them and while it's important to have good home games it's just as important to have a complete schedule without 5 cupcakes (3 CAA cupcakes + 2 OOC cupcakes).

Careful, there may be a time when the cupcakes aren’t there and you wish you had one and weren’t somebody else’s.

I really don't mind one or two, but most seasons we have five games where before KO every one on this board would take JMU to win and give three TD's.

Are you complaining about how good the Dukes are? SMH

Nah, he’s complaining that we intentionally schedule too many cupcakes that even ODU could beat.

Yep, we are scheduled three wins by the CAA that we surely don't need two more guarantees before the season begins. When we schedule two teams that don't use all (or even close) to the allowable number of scholarships it's like Clemson scheduling two FCS games in a season. Being as good as Clemson is, their fans would revolt if they scheduled two. Carolina can get away with it simply because they are not one of the top of the P5 CFB teams. We are one of the top FCS teams. NDSU doesn't schedule two less than full scholly teams.

Great scheduling job, much better OOC series. Utah is gorgeous, and that's a great time of year to hike the mountains and check out thawed members of the Donner party. 04-wine

You’re saying that 3 of 4 home CAA games every season are cupcakes? 03-confused

So this year:
-VU not a cupcake.
-RU, TU, and UNH = cupcakes.
Do I have that right?

You saying we're only playing four games in conference this season. Might need to look again.

Ok, I read it as you were referring to 6 home games/4 CAA.
