JMU playing well. Up 19-15 after 1 quarter. Made a long 3 pointer at the buzzer.

Good Girls up 33-32 at half. Hit another 3 at the buzzer. FSU plays great D; we are getting no easy shots. Reynolds provided some nice spark.

FSU starting to pull away 62-52 after 3 quarters.

Back to back threes by the good girls. Down 4 w/ eight minutes left.

Lost 79-63. We played hard, just are not good shooters. They, on the other hand were. Still, room for optimism.

FSU is about 10 points better than us. We have grown up a lot in a month, would’ve lost that game by 25+ early in the year. By March, we will be a dangerous team if these young players keep progressing and learning how to play with each other. We are essentially relying on three sophomores as our top scorers and another sophomore as our best low post defensive presence. Add in a fifth sophomore who is 6’4 that becomes eligible soon.

They made a lot of contested shots, especially #20 Shakayla Thomas. The team showed a lot of fight, Logan Reynolds had the crowd on their feet a few times.

Thought the Ladies played well today and did not let a highly ranked team get to them. Gave the Noles a good fight all game long but in the end FSU was just better.

Think the team is starting to gell and that by the time CAA play starts they will be rolling.

Will see what happens on Wednesday against the Flames. Will be there ROOTIN!!

A couple of takeaways: We didn't have an answer for that pull-up jumper. Need to find one. And we didn't have an answer for #4 A.J. Alix--she's fast and shoots the lights out from anywhere. There are more like her on other teams. But I thought on the whole we played pretty well. OTOH, FSU did not look like a #13 team. Tennessee, which was ranked #13 when we played them, is better.
