NMSU basketball destroys Utep in El Paso for the sweep of our I-10 rival, then Utep turns around and hammers Paul Weir and UNM in basketball! But the biggest news of all-NMSU IS GOING BOWLING BABYYYYY!!!!! Frosting on the cake, the great super power of basketball Cal State Bakersfield lost at HOME to an 0-7 team from the Big Sky, Northern Arizona! Precious!!!!!!COGS02-13-banana

And poor old Clarity isn’t around to defend it. He bashes every WAC team for bad losses and points out how our wins are against “bad” teams. This loss is much worse that UTRG because a) Grambling just beat Georgia Tech and b) Bako is supposedly one of the top WAC teams. What a glorious day!!! It’s a festivus miracle!!!

ESPN's Scott Van Pelt featuring us on Sports Center. They actually started Sports Center featuring NMSU, then featured us in their "One Big Thing".

Yah, but conference RPI suffers as a result.
However, after the week we have had here on these boards, I understand.

CSUB sounded on radio like they played horribly, seemingly tossing up careless shots. 25 turnovers too!!! Joiner seems inconsistent from game to game at this stage. We'll see how experience at this level and maturity help that out.

Congrats on the bowl bid.

RE: Beautiful Night & Week Aggie Fans
I usually get no gratification to see a WAC team lose unless it is to NMSU. However, like Frank homer posts to many here (non-Aggies), Clarity did leave a sour taste for Aggie fans and probably some WAC fans with his constant discredit of NMSU's (and others) program. AND, his doomsday rhetoric about the WAC once he knew his team was on sure footing; joining the BWC. I know he can't respond but I know tonight's loss to NAU would have cooled his jets about who is "THE TEAM" to beat in this conference.

As for Aggie football, I'm so happy for this season; and hopefully an opportunity to play in a bowl. This has been a long time coming... 57 years. Let me set the record straight though. NMSU has been bowl eligible in past years. It is just that NMSU has never been invited to a bowl in those very few winning seasons (less bowl slots to fill in the past). Hopefully NMSU will get their bowl opportunity with an announcement tomorrow.

Did I miss the part where Clarity got himself banned again. I’ve been a little caught up in homework since it is finals season.

The Sun Belt has five bowl tie-ins and NMSU makes five bowl eligible teams, so the Aggies are pretty much guaranteed a bowl game.

Good luck Aggies, I'll be rooting for you!

RE: Beautiful Night & Week Aggie Fans
It does suck for Cal State Bakersfield fans that they have to stay in the "dead end" WAC for two-and-half more seasons; being that they are stuck waiting on UC San Diego's timeline as they transition to D1. That just means they have to take the abuse from some WAC fans for not being welcome anymore. Their school is now the pariah of the WAC... but they chose to take the first exit out of town.

Kind of wish Clarity was still here to see how he would spin the loss to NAU. I am sure there must be a "logical" reason for losing to an 0-7 team on your home court.
That said, I will still be rooting for CSUB during OOC play just cause they still represent the WAC and I do want the WAC to be successful.

Thanks Scott. Hey, come to Bako and I'll buy you a beer!

But, uhhh.... it probably should be before July 1, 2020.

Seriously though, I will miss the commerederie of this conference as it exists these days, as well as the competitive nature that has developed between schools/teams. "Misfits," so to speak, but it has been built into a pretty good conference, IMO!

Way to go Aggies. As a Texas State fan, I hate that we suck right now but I am glad we helped get you bowl eligible.

Y'all do well next season I'm sure. The Sun Belt is becoming bottom heavy and with 5 bowl tie ins with a 10 team league it won't be hard to get a bowl next season.

It was a great night, I loved the way in which the Aggie fans came onto the field and did not destroy anything! Looking forward to Aggies vs Aggies!

By the way, people have mentioned Clarity, was he banned or put into the sin bin for a period of time.

Hopefully Clarity is history for good. Don't need Mr. Big West Pest around. Let the Big West message board deal with him.
