Well, the Heart of Dallas Bowl is actually played at the Cotton Bowl, which is already a New Year's bowl. And the Sun Bowl is in El Paso, AKA the middle of nowhere. 03-wink

The Cotton Bowl is now played in AT&T stadium in Arlington, correct? Heart of Dallas Bowl is played at the old Cotton Bowl Stadium in Dallas.

But, no reason to pick two venues in the same metro area. Spread the love.

Ah, I see. But yes, DFW only needs one New Year's bowl.

"Bowl"/playoff games will never be hosted on campus. Vendors, parking management, etc are negotiated many months in advance at large (P5) schools. Smaller towns and even some cities won't have the budget for police overtime. There's no way to push all that through the red-tape in just a couple of weeks.

No. The Citrus Bowl is a dump.

I picked: Holiday, Outback. Reason being that they're both in NFL quality stadiums and one on each coast.

RE: New Year's Eight Bowls?
You left off the Citrus Bowl. That is a major one in the Mouses backyard and would be roped in. The other would be in Las Vegas in the Raiders Stadium since they need one in the west to balance another Florida Bowl.

The big question is where would the semi-finals go for the 8 down to 4? Frank the Tank says on campus, but I think instead each conference should designate a site if their school is hosting. You don't want to be playing a game in Seattle in the cold rain or Ann Arbor or Madison in the Snow. Lucas Oil makes sense for the B1G, Jerry World for the B12, Levi for a P12 north. While the P12 South (except Utah or Colorado), the SEC and ACC can pretty much host on campus (unless somehow BC or Pitt win the ACC ... which is not happening).

Hadn't heard that, though I'm not surprised.
