I generally agree. In this case, Frost had signed an MOU on the Monday prior to the Championship Game. I would have wanted Frost and Staff to coach the championship game, then move on.

If UCF hires Troy Walters, I would ask Frost to move on.

Nebraska or UCF students? 99.9% of hired coaches poach recruits from their previous school. UCF just gave Frost a month to do that on their dime.

I'd prefer Scott to win us a Peach Bowl over keep a soft verbal from a wishy washy 17 yr old who is probably going to flip to a P5 school in Feb.

You don't even know if these kids are going to pan out.

Win now. End of story.
This is a rare event, it's not like UCF goes to the NY6 bowl every year. Win now, over everything else.

Frost gives us the best chance to win.

Not my circus, not my monkeys, but I agree.

If you win the Peach Bowl, UCF will ALWAYS have this undefeated season to point to, and a self-proclaimed National Championship. Or a "13-0 American College Football Champions, 2017" banner if the NCAA or CFP legal department gets snippy about it. (First time your name has been a tangible advantage, IMO.)

Lose the coach, maybe lose the game, and it's not much different than UCF's other PEach Bowl trip, or Houston's 2011 run, or a bunch of Boise State seasons.

Put it another way--win the Peach Bowl, and this is UCF's equivalent to Boise STate's Fiesta Bowl against Oklahoma.

This gives Nebraska a bunch of free press. It keeps Frost in the most fertile recruiting state in the nation for weeks. And if UCF hires a new staff, which they have to, where do they office? Are they in the locker room as well? I don't see how this works.

I want UCF to win the bowl but you have to think of the future in this situation.

this is the correct answer.

No it isn't. It is self-serving. Frost is trying to get as much publicity as he can because his team is 4-8 and not in a bowl.

There is a third option: Frost coaches the game. UCF gets crushed. Partly as a result of him and his staff being focused on two jobs. Nebraska gets some of UCF's recruits, and the new UCF is at a disadvantage, due to the old staff still using some of the infrastructure.

This whole thing is dumb. You take a new job, you move on. Its not personal, just business.

I don't know what the right decision is here, but at least 7 Assistant Coaches are following Frost to Nebraska. That can't be good for UCF's incoming class.

Curious, what are the Knights take on Frost meeting with Nebraska on November 17th in Philly? Then signing his memorandum on November 27th?

My take is that Frost had a really hard decision and he struggled with it.

Wish him the best

Read that article. Then read the ESPN article. He said he had two contracts on his desk, when he had already signed one.

And those assistants got paid! No brainer decision. We all would have done the same thing.

RE: Scott Frost to coach Peach Bowl
I thought of a new angle on this today.

We think of Nebraska and think of national titles and the Big 8 rivalry with Oklahoma.

Today's recruits have never seen Nebraska in a major bowl game. They were in diapers for NEbraska's BCS-Rose Bowl win in 2001-02. They *will* be watching Scott Frost coach in a major bowl game, though.

That's another reason that this is an exception to the usual rule--UCF's potential undefeated season is a major resume builder for both UCF and for Frost.

Paul Johnson was offensive coordinator at Navy. He left to become head coach at Georgia Southern. He did not attend any bowl practices, but returned to call plays in the bowl.

Nebraska hasn't even won a conference title since 1999, which us why their new AD did everything he could to lock up Frost even before he fired his own HC.
