Will George O'Leary and his staff put together a solid recruiting class in the wake of an 0-11 season? My guess is that they will, but going winless has to make recruiting somewhat more difficult for them.
Another question: Will the next recruiting class once again have 50% of its signees coming from outside the state of Florida? I would like to think that our coaches are establishing strong ties with high school coaches in the Sunshine State.

We already are off to a great start in football recruiting (12 verbals leads the state.) These are also ALL academic studs as well so we wont have any ineligible or questionable signees. I do see us recruiting more out of state, but only because we are in dire need of positions Florida isnt known for (OL, DL, QB). We will get plenty of speedy skill players from Florida though.

I must disagree. Last year was by far the worst year. We got some wins, but team spirit was low and we had no coach at (or towards) the end that we had any confidence in. If you have a membership to rivals, check out what the recruits are saying about UCF. That said, I feel it was a let-down of a season for the most part. But it's not hard to see where the bright spots are and where improvement needs to be made on a personell basis. Hopefully we get some depth help soon on the Offensive line.

You have me there. I haven't read the comments you referred to. Certainly, there still are positives to point to. The commitment to having a top-notch coaching staff (which we now have) is one. The move of all sports into Conference USA is another. Then there's the new Wayne Densch building (just opened a couple years ago) and the fieldhouse that is currently under construction (will eliminate the problem of having practices rained out). Maybe the 0-11 season won't make any difference in recruiting at all, but I'm concerned that it could sway some blue chippers who might be on the fence trying to decide between UCF and other Division 1 schools.

Amen to that. This was pretty much the worst year I've seen by our offensive line since we joined Division 1-A. Clearly, we need a lot of help there.

Recruiting wish list:
1. Offensive line (more depth needed)
2. Defensive line (more depth needed)
3. Linebackers (more size needed)
4. Defensive backs (particularly at the safety positions)
5. Tailback - Dontavious Wilcox and Curtis Francis can perform well at this position, but I'd like to see UCF find another "franchise" back similar to Alex Haynes
6. Fullback (more depth needed)

I'm comfortable with the DB's as long as they're healthy. The young guys getting thrown out there did a phenominal job this year for freshmen. I can't wait to see T Johnson Ashley Rashad Neal Parks and Venson in two years. Some of the pick ups so far would impress you and ease your tensions if you had access to one of the pay sites. I won't plug.

I like Travis Holmes. As a walk-on, he's done a terrific job. I hope he'll be a full-time starter next season.
Are any of the db's you listed going to play safety? Rashad was the one who filled in while Atari Bigby was injured, right? I was wondering who would take over for Bigby and Peter Sands next season (assuming that Sands isn't allowed to return).
