A trip to Idaho would be nice for players to check out the mountains
keep NMST close to pick up there BB program

with Tex St & NMST, could the sell a tv package to LHN

Sun Belt is going to have a championship game next year as a 10 member league.

Traveling to Idaho is no fun most teams fly into Lewiston but the runway is short for the altitude so teams from the south with a fully loaded plane can't load enough fuel to safely take off and make it home so usually fly to Boise or Salt Lake to take on more fuel to make it home.

I knew SB was playing a CCG at 10, however, i would think 2 div setup would be more valuable

sch could be setup for 1 trip every 4 yrs per school, Idaho brought thier own bowl game.
Idaho also offered kickback on travell cost.
thier home game package could be sold to ROOT

The Idaho fans got hosed by their own administration. I feel horrible for them. Team finally turns a corner and then this.

Well they are playing in divisions. Two requirements for a CCG. Play a round robin (9 conference games) or split into two as even as possible divisions. Sunbelt will l have 2 5 teams divisions.

80% chance that the title game will be a regular season rematch.

Remarkably close to the 78% of the 9 CCG's this year that were rematches.

The real hosing took place twenty years ago when the admin (and state from so I've been told) decided to not seriously invest in the program so it could compete at a high level and not get into this mess. Boise may have always had the larger market, but Idaho had the academics, endowment, and football history; it's easy to forget that UI from 1985 through 1995 only missed the DI-AA playoffs and lost to the Broncos once apiece. Had they capitalized on their success to build a new stadium or expand their dome instead of half-assing it and playing their first few seasons at Wazzu while the program deteriorated, we may be talking about the Vandals in the Mountain West today. I feel for their fans.

Frankly, I'm not quite sure why a state the size of Idaho has three DI teams, and you could argue that they don't even need three four-year universities given how they're not much larger than quite a few states with only one or two (albeit with far smaller area). They probably could've maintained Boise and Idaho pretty well in DI if they kept Idaho State as a four-year UI branch with less funding and DII athletics.

There are three main population centers in Idaho, and each have a DI team.

Idaho Panhandle -U of Idaho. Used to have the most people, but not anymore.
Treasure Valley - Boise St Its much warmer and drier climate has attracted a lot of tech growth in the last 50 years.
Upper Snake River Valley - Idaho State is the supposed team, but that region seems more allegiance to BYU and Utah more than the Bengals.

Other regions like the Magic Valley (Twin Falls area), Sun Valley and region, and the lightly populated central mountain region are more and more geared toward to Boise.

Look at a map to see why they have those 3 four year universities. Ohio is a better state to question why they have so many four year universities close together (which the answer is because they bought up a bunch of private schools in the 60s).
