Memphis is no slouch. I didn't think they would roll over for UCF.

Remember when Memphis lost to Rice a few short years ago.

Neither of these teams are even in the same zipcode as us now.

TCU’s offense is hilariously inept. No UTEP job for Sonny Cumbie.

Kenny Hill is a pretty big handicap. There's a reason he couldn't hack it against the big boys when he was at aTm.

RE: Conference Championship Games
Memphis has twice gotten lucky on delay of games. Wow

Once a 11 yard sack and a blocked FG

Wild finish in the AAC game. Memphis had a chance to take the lead with 33 seconds to play. FG blocked but delay of game leads to 51 yd attempt. Kick is wide left. UCF takes over at their own 34. INT with 14 seconds to play. Memphis takes over on their own 40. Sack on 1st play sends it to OT.

Memphis gets 1st down on 4th and 7 to stay alive. 1st down at the 5. Frost's departure to Lincoln delayed.

But only for a moment. INT on 2nd and goal.

RE: Conference Championship Games
Auburn up 7-0 on UGA. 5 mins in.

So playoff will be
OU
Winner of SEC championship
Winner of ACC championship
???

If Wisconsin beats tOSU they are in. If they lose.. Then what happens? You have a 2 loss B1G champion, a 1 loss Alabama with a relatively weak schedule.. and if Miami beats Clemson in a close game a 2 loss Clemson with a lot of quality wins... Then all bets are off.

RE: Conference Championship Games
Miami won't beat Clemson. Of that I am sure.

I also don't think Wisconsin will beat Ohio State, because even though Wisky has been very consistent over the last 25 years, that program still has never quite gotten to truly elite status. I expect Ohio State to keep the Badgers down once again.

Auburn-Georgia in Atlanta is a toss-up for me.

So I see OU playing the SEC title game winner, and Clemson getting whoever makes it in after the dust has cleared from the Big 10 title game. I think it will be Alabama.

RE: Conference Championship Games
Not exactly a CCG but New Mexico State, at 5-6, trails 17-16 at home with 2:30 to go in the 4th against South Alabama. They are in the red zone. A win sends them to their first bowl game since 1960 - the nation's longest bowl drought.

ETA: looks like a crowd of 25K plus in Las Cruces

UGA throttles Auburn. Auburn scored on their opening drive and did diddly squat after that.

Looks like the playoff will be

OU
UGA
Winner of ACC championship
??? (Wisconsin if they win... tOSU, Alabama, others if they don't)

NMSU wins 22-17 with a late TD and they rush the field at Aggie Memorial. Likely headed to the Arizona Bowl.

Seems like just yesterday I was debating with gerlach and others that playing nmsu was a wasted week for us.

RE: Conference Championship Games
84-yard long bomb puts the Buckeyes up 7-0, then JT Barrett throws a pick 6 and the Badgers tie it up 7-7, then another quick strike 57-yard swing pass catch and run gives tOSU the lead 14-7 at the end of 1Q. Ohio State should have no shot at the playoff IMO. The blowout loss to Iowa is just too ugly. It takes some doing to give up 55 points to Iowa.
