Some really good information as many, myself included at times, are often confused as to how betting lines are set, and how or why they move.

This should help clear up the notion that lines are "how vegas experts think the game will play out". While on a meta level you can sometimes say its what the aggregate betting public believes will happen, that's not the goal for line setters. They will often set lines to trap the general public into making bad bets, lines that are not really what they think the outcome will be.

The lines are not set as a service to the public to say "this is what we think". Like everything else in life, it's all about making money, and not losing any.
