Maybe Grant McCasland is going to build a solid team down in Denton this season. Not saying we are going to win this one, but this is already much better then Benford did over his time at UNT. That buyout we paid Arkansas State is looking like money well spent.

Final

Wish we could have kept it a little closer, but not a bad loss. The game gives me some hope that the Mean Green will at least finish a respectable .500 this season. Not bad for the first season of a major rebuild.

I wouldn't call 14-8 heavily favored, that is typical of road games usually. North Texas shot the ball well and stayed close, I would be satisfied with that against what is usually a quality team.

Oh, yeah. No complaints here. New coach ... and almost entirely remade roster ... the result was better than expected.
