RE: UT track and field 2018
Every time I see one of these updates, I always think to myself how incredible it is to see Janelle Noe's name up there (and normally competing for wins). The amount of strength, willpower, and determination it took her to be where she is now is the stuff of which many could never find. Kudos to her and all other Rockets competing this weekend.

I don’t like BG either but it seems petty to ignore them.

BTW, BG is third in place of Akron 2.0.

According to the live results, Janelle Noe wins the 1500 and Petronela Simiuc comes in 2nd.
Noe's time of 4:17.01 bested her previous PR by almost 2 seconds. Looks like she stands somewhere around 26 in the NCAA this year.
What an amazing story.
Rockets currently in 2nd place.

Unf’ing believable. Got to be a Lifetime movie! What a tough, tough young lady. I don’t think anyone would have predicted this BEFORE the burns.

If I’m reading correctly she ran from the front the whole race and broke the record set in 1999.

Someone can post a film clip?
Why do I get nervous watching those, as if the result is going to change? Hope she still wins.

Blade story on UT recruit Megan Burmeister from Bowsher.
Anyone know how she did at the state meet? When you think of Noe posting a best of 4:10 in the 1,500 and compare that to her personal best of 5:01.8 in the 1,600, it shows how far she needs to go to improve at the D-I level. I would suspect at the end of the 1,600 you are taking about 15-18 seconds for that last 100 meters. That would put her 1,500 at around 4:45. I would suspect a concentration on running alone will help bring that time down fairly quickly. Her focus may help her, but no question that getting just one year on the same team with Noe will be a tremendous inspiration for her - and her other teammates. I also was impressed by her twin sister going in a positive direction when it came to her conditioning. Losing 50 pounds from her freshman year to her senior year in HS is no small feat.

Well, our last set of twins did pretty well, Ari and Ali Fisher.
