To some extent yes. But Little Kim and Donald Trump aren't sophisticated strategists. They are likely two of the stupidest people on the planet.

If NK is stupid enough to actually put a warhead on a missile and nuke the US, it's their own death warrant they are signing. Not only theirs, but I can pretty much guarantee the the US wipes every last communist/socialist leader in the western hemisphere off the map. Iran would probably be next, knowing they worked with NK and would do the exact same thing if they got the chance.

I hav no doubt about that. We would win any war against any country that dares to attack us.

The question is at what cost?

Did you ever consider the fact that a number of our most connected/powerful people may WANT something like this to happen in order to "right size" the world population? Perhaps a solution to the problem first postulated by Malthus?

I've seen some articles about tests where the Navy launched interceptors from sea and hit stationary targets. I don't recall if they tested them with missiles. I think they did.

I'll google it later, but right now it's time to head home.

Boost phase intercept tests by the navy have been successful and have failed in the past year.

Trump is waiting, waiting, waiting for a REAL EXCUSE to take them out with conventional weapons (which we can do). I'm sure he's taken China's threat of interfering only if we're the first to strike. If NK does strike someplace it'll be hells bells for NK. The best time would be during one of their parades with all their generals and the fat boy in attendance. A whole bunch of drone attacks at the same time will likely put a lot of those old generals out of commission. Too bad for the collateral damage but if NK strikes first there won't be any reason we should worry about that. It'll be too late.
